Dear New Glarus Community Members,
We are so blessed to live in a compassionate community that is always ready to respond when our neighbors are in need. During these anxious and ever-changing times, the New Glarus Caring for Kids organization is committed to continuing its mission of providing for those in need as well. We have been planning and in communication with the New Glarus School District in order to best determine how we can support students and their families when school is closed.

COVID-19 is causing many events to be cancelled or postponed. We are attempting to list as many cancellations, postponements and other changes as we can. However, this situation is constantly changing by the day, and sometimes by the hour, so it’s entirely possible that by the time our readers see this information it may be out of date!
Please remember to support local businesses as much as possible. Small businesses are doing the best they can during this time and they need everyone’s help.

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) will present this year’s gypsy moth treatment plan at several open house meetings March 16-19. The gypsy moth is a non-native insect with a destructive appetite for hundreds of species of trees and shrubs. Treatment efforts help limit the spread of this pest that is established in the eastern two-thirds of the state.
