Dear Editor,
Addicts and alcoholics will go to extreme measures to stop the sickness or withdrawal to emerge that comes with using drugs and alcohol. When they start coming to reality and noticing their surroundings, actions, and terrible operating basis they will feel these terrible feelings of guilt and shame that they want to go away instantly. In this moment they become extremely desperate to find their next fix.

Last week, three Monticello students were recognized by the Wisconsin Professional Fire Fighters Charitable Foundation (PFFWCF) for posters they created illustrating Fire Safety. The contest was open to students state-wide for students from first to 12th Grade.
Misty Keller, Angela Cash and Macey Grant were presented with plaques and gift cards by Eric Salzwedel, Program Coordinator. In attendance for the presentation were several Monticello Firefighters, and Monticello teacher, Paul Burk, who is a firefighter in New Glarus.

Green County 4-H held its annual Communications Contest on Sunday, February 23, 2020, at the Green County Justice Center. This contest was open to all countywide 4-H members in grades 5K through one year past high school.

A couple of decades ago, some parents began asking themselves where will our children with disabilities go when we are gone. This thought led to a residential facility that would be there when their children were ready. The Home Of Our Own (HOOO) is now an organization that is building that facility to provide that housing. Ground has broken and construction has begun very near New Glarus, on Elmer Road.
