New Glarus Walking Hunt
During these uncertain times New Glarus mom Katie Beal has set up a walking hunt for the community’s kids, and it’s called the New Glarus Walking Hunt.
The first week’s theme is teddy bears and it will go from March 26 to April 1. The second week’s theme will go from April 2 to April 8 and the theme will be flowers, and week three will be from April 9 to April 15, and that theme will be bunnies and eggs.

St. Francis of Assisi in Belleville Celebrates the Family Stations of the Cross

On March 6, parishioners of St. Francis of Assisi in Belleville participated in the parishes’ Family Stations of the Cross. The Stations will be displayed in the gathering area throughout the Lenten season.
“This is an activity that guarantees to provide our families with focus on Jesus during this Holy Season,” said Linda Sheridan, organizer of the event for the second year.

Boy Scouts Help With Food Drive

On March 7th, the Belleville Pack 61 Cub Scouts delivered flyers to all Belleville community residences promoting a community Food Pantry Drive. Then, on March 14th, the Belleville Boy Scout Troop 61 picked up all donations on front porches throughout the community and delivered them to the pantry. Girl Scout Troop 1531 weighed and sorted all the food for the pantry, with a total of 600 lbs of food and care items. Thank you to the community for all your generous donations to help those in need.

WILLIAM R. HULTINE SR.

William R. Hultine Sr., age 80 of Belleville, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2020, at the New Glarus Home. He was born on December 7, 1939, in Elgin, IL, the son of Elwood and Dorothea (Schubbe) Hultine Sr.
Bill graduated from St. Charles High School in 1957. On January 7, 1961, he was united in marriage to Linda Kuk. Bill served as a Captain for the St. Charles Fire Department and then went on to work for many years as an emergency vehicle mechanic, working on fire trucks and ambulances. Bill had developed and patented a quick dump valve for fire tankers.

Brooke Bowen Anson, 85, of New Glarus, WI, passed away on March 15, 2020. His departure was prolonged, not on his terms, and thus considered by him to be a great nuisance. He was loved and will be missed by more people than he realized.
