Manure storage and handling systems have changed in recent years due in part to larger farms, new technologies and application restrictions. These manure storage and handling systems have potential hazards to workers and rescuers that include confined spaces. The gasses produced by manure as it decomposes require extra precautions when working with manure storage and handling systems.

The WE Energies Foundation, through its grant award, is partnering with the Green Cares Food Pantry to combat food insecurity throughout Green County.
Green Cares Food Pantry, located just outside of Monticello, serves eligible Green County individuals and families and is the largest food pantry in the county. During the month of August, the pantry saw its highest usage ever – 811 individuals were served by the pantry. Of these 811 individuals, 52% were children or adults over the age of 60.

All items for Monticello’s Fall Clean Up must be separated/sorted and curbside by 7:00 a.m., Monday, October 17th.
<strong>Refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers, air conditioners and anything containing Freon must have the Freon removed by a licensed person and a certified statement needs to be received by the village clerk by Friday, October 10, 2016. </strong>
All debris, excluding brush, must be in an area not larger than four feet wide by ten feet long by four feet high.
