St. Francis to Hold Annual Dinner

St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Belleville, is hosting its annual church dinner on Sunday, October 2, 2016, in the St. Mary of Lourdes Church Hall located at 227 Frederick Street. Carry out orders and drive through pick up will be available at the St. Francis of Assisi Church, located at 338 S. Harrison Street. The dinner, which is all you can eat served family style, features Roast Pork, Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Green Bean Casserole, Applesauce, Coleslaw, Dinner Rolls and Homemade Pies. Serving time is from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

Reminder of Grant Deadline

The New Glarus Community Foundation and New Glarus Excellence in Education (EIE) components of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, Inc., is now accepting grant applications. Projects that serve the greater New Glarus community and the New Glarus School District area are eligible.

Wilhelm Tell Annual Meeting Set

The Annual Meeting of the Wilhelm Tell Guild has been set for Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at Tofflers Pub & Grill, 200 5th Avenue, New Glarus. The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m., in the upstairs meeting area. Everyone associated with the festival is encouraged to attend. Likewise anyone who would like to become involved is also welcome. There is always room for more volunteers.

Parade Entries Needed

New Glarus Homecoming is just around the corner. The New Glarus/Monticello Knights will face Mosinee Indians. The homecoming parade will be held on Friday, September 30. Line-up will start at 1:30 p.m., in the gravel lot across from the high school, with the parade beginning at 2:00 p.m. All businesses and organizations are invited to put an entry in the parade.

Cemetery Clean Up in Monticello

All decorations, flowers, shepherd’s hooks and urns must be removed from the cemetery during the clean-up period from October 1st through October 15th. This includes both the church cemetery and Highland Cemetery.
<strong>Individuals wishing to retain specific items must remove them prior to the October 1st start of clean-up.</strong>
