That's What Friends Are For

The community of Belleville needs a new public library. The current building is not big enough to provide the spaces and services Belleville residents need. People said in our community survey the library needs a larger story time area, a larger book and DVD collection, more computers, and a variety of spaces from small study rooms to large meeting areas for community groups and library events.

Joely L. Roosli, age 58 of Madison, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at the Waunakee Manor. He was born on January 4, 1959, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, the son of Eugene and Joyce (Meier) Roosli.

DAVID J. BURNS

David J. Burns, age 54 of Fitchburg/Belleville, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, August 17, 2017. He was born on August 15, 1963, the son of Peter and Jean (Mack) Burns.
He graduated from Belleville High School in 1981. David was a CNA at Heartsong Assisted Living in Belleville for 15 years prior to going to Attic Angels in Madison. He had a great love and passion for his patients and their families. He was an avid sports fan, but his true passion was for the Green Bay Packers.

New Glarus Habitat Groundbreaking August 27th

The public is invited to attend the gala groundbreaking ceremony marking the first Green County Habitat for Humanity build in New Glarus. The event is scheduled for Sunday, August 27, at 4:30 p.m.
Music and refreshments will be part of the agenda. The event will see a host of state and local office holders, clergy and local dignitaries as well as the recipient family as honored guests. The groundbreaking will be at the construction site at 200 First Avenue, New Glarus. There is no charge and everyone is welcome.

Wildcats Dedicate First Game to O'Connor

Balloons were released on Friday, before the Belleville Wildcats first game of the season in a memorial tribute to Eric O'Connor, one of their senior captains, who passed away in July in an ATV accident. The Wildcats dedicated the game to O'Connor, and won the game 41-6.

New Glarus Woman Faces Felony Charges

On Monday, August 21, 2017, Mary S. Way, 59, New Glarus, was arrested and charged with one count of Felony Theft – Business Setting (less than $2,500-$5,000), two counts of Felony Theft – Business Setting (Over $10,000), and three counts of Felony Identity Theft – Financial Gain after a one-year investigation.
In August of 2016, the New Glarus Police Department received information from Green County Human Services regarding an alleged theft of money spanning several years from an elderly victim residing in the Village of New Glarus by their Power of Attorney.
