UW-Extension, in cooperation with the Green County Milk Quality Council, will be sponsoring Dairy Facility Farm Tours on Thursday, August 24, 2017. The tours will include six dairy farms located in Green County that have all made modernization improvements to their dairy facilities to increase productivity and animal comfort as well as reduce labor.

The Monticello Area Historical Society (MAHS) will meet at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, August 24, 2017, in the Zwingli United Church of Christ Sanctuary, 416 E. Lake Avenue, Monticello.
Pigeons: White, racing, homing pigeons are Gary Davison's passion. Davison, of rural Monticello, will discuss the history of pigeons, breeding, training and racing.
This is a free presentation and will start about 7:15 p.m., after the regular meeting of the MAHS. Come join us; the public is welcome.

Landowners whose CREP contracts are expiring this year have until August 31st to re-enroll in the program, an option that might look more and more attractive in light of this summer’s floods in Wisconsin. Enrolling for the first time is also an option that non-participating landowners should consider if they have fields or pastures that frequently flood.
That’s according to Brian Loeffelholz, who coordinates the CREP program for the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection.
