The Raiders competed against three dominant teams with winning records in the past week of soccer. This did not deter the Raiders, even when playing teams from higher divisions. With a record of 13-2-2, and 10 shutouts, the Raiders moved up to number four in the State Poll.

On May 9th, the Monticello softball team lost 14-4 to Argyle; too many mental errors killed the Ponies, along with Argyle hitting the ball very hard.
The lone highlight for the Ponies was Jessie Garrison going 2-3, with a two-run homer in the fourth inning. 
Tuesday’s game against Barneveld was rescheduled to May 21st.
On Saturday, the Ponies lost two games in Juda, losing the first one to Stockton, 10-4, and then losing to Brodhead, 4-1.
The Ponies hosted Black Hawk on May 16th, played in Juda on May 17th, and will head to Highland on May 19th.

With the closure of Tax Increment Financing District #2 in 2015, the Village Board was able to contribute approximately $125,000 in excess tax increment to a newly created Revolving Loan Fund program (RLF). The purpose of the RLF program is to create employment opportunities, increase local incomes, and ultimately enhance the New Glarus tax base through improvements in valuation of commercial properties within the village. The RLF program provides the Village with an economic development tool to encourage business growth and expansion through smaller gap financing loans.

New Glarus received its twenty-first consecutive Tree City USA award and a total of 15 trees were planted in New Glarus on Friday, May 6, as part of the village's annual Arbor Day tree planting.
Adult volunteers and New Glarus High School students, under the direction of Dan Ziegler, joined Village Forester Paul Jennrich in planting trees throughout the village.
