2015 Spring Clean-Up in New Glarus

Spring Clean-Up Day will be held on two non-consecutive Fridays, with the Village being divided into two zones.  Zone A was picked up on Friday, May 15, 2015, and Zone B on Friday, May 29, 2015.  See newglarusvillage.com for a map of the two zones.
At this time, the contractor WILL pick up furniture, and other items not considered being normal residential garbage, refuse or recyclables.  This pick up DOES NOT include tires, e-waste (i.e. TVs, VCRs, computer equipment), medication, remodeling or construction materials.

Summer Supper and Dairy Queen Crowning

The Women’s Guild of Zwingli United Church of Christ in Monticello is sponsoring their annual Summer Supper on Friday, June 5, 2015, from 4:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m., in Fellowship Hall. The church is located at 416 E. Lake Avenue and is handicapped accessible. The menu includes Barbecues, Brats, Chips, Fruit Pies, Cake or Brownies, Sundaes, Ice Cream and Beverages. Items are priced separately. Carry-outs are available. Some present Dairy Queens will be serving cheese samples. At 7:00 p.m., the 2015-2016 Monticello Dairy Queen will be crowned.

Not pictured is John Blumer sponsored by Jim Marty. We welcome them to our club. Our next meeting is June 3rd, 7 pm at the Lions shelter. We welcome anyone to come. We thank everyone who supported us at the Spring Fling. The music was great and the food was good.

Youth Apprentices Honored

Dane County school to career coordinators, youth apprenticeship students and their families, work place mentors, and career pathway teachers came together last month at McFarland High School to recognize the contributions each had made through the youth apprenticeship program in advancing students' readiness to enter college and/or join the workforce.
Belleville's youth apprenticeship program participation has grown from three students this year to seven starting this summer and into the fall.

Dairy Queen Crowning Schedule

The schedule has been set for local Dairy Queen crownings.
Brooklyn will crown their Dairy Queen on Thursday, June 4, 2015, at 6:30 p.m., at the Brooklyn Methodist Church during their Ice Cream Social.
The Juda Dairy Queen will also be crowned on Thursday, June 4, 2015, at the Park at 7:45 p.m. – in case of rain the crowning will be held at the Community building.
Monroe’s crowning will be held on the Square on Friday, June 5, 2015, at 6:00 p.m., in case of rain the crowning will take place at Grace Lutheran Church.

<strong>Illinois Wesleyan Announces Spring 2015 Dean’s List</strong>
<strong>Katelyn Masson</strong>, New Glarus, has been named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester of the 2014-15 academic year at Illinois Wesleyan University.
The Dean’s List, which was announced by Provost and Dean of Faculty Jonathan Green, includes students from 26 states and 13 countries. To be on the Dean’s List, a student must have a grade-point average of 3.50 or better during the semester, based on 4.0 for straight A’s.
