The New Glarus varsity golf team competed in the Capitol Conference tournament on Wednesday, May 20.
The Knights placed fifth, with a team score of 369. The Knights were led by Max Cruse who shot an 18-hole score of 89. We placed fifth in regular season in the Capitol Conference.
Max Cruse was chosen Second-Team All-Conference.
I was very impressed with our performance both at the tournament and over the course of the season.

The Monticello softball team earned the two seed for regionals.
On May 19, the Ponies faced off against Barneveld for a doubleheader. Monticello won the first game, 2-1.
“In game one, it was a pitching duel early on with the Ponies holder a 1-0 lead after four. The Eagles scored one in the top of the fifth,” explained Head Coach Duane Garrison. “Sam DeVoe got the game winner in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI single.”
Leading hitters were Sam DeVoe going two for three and Alyssah Kubly going three for three.

A busy week of soccer for the Raiders included winning three games, two of which were conference battles, scoring 19 goals while holding their opponents to single goal, and securing two shutouts.
With a record of 16 wins, 3 losses, and 1 tie, the Raiders retain their #4 ranking in the state and are leading the Capitol Conference.
In the first match of the week, the Raiders traveled to Edgerton for a non-conference game. After a dormant start to the game, the Raiders found their rhythm and the scoring began.

Sunday, June 14, 2015, is the Friends of the New Glarus Public Library First Annual FootGolf fundraising event at Argue-Ment Golf Course. This is the rescheduled date. There was a weather situation on the previously scheduled date. FootGolf, a hybrid of golf and soccer, doesn’t require any experience, and it is fun for all ages and abilities.
Here are the details: Come anytime from 9:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. No pre-registration required. Per Person Fee: $25.00 for 18 holes.
Family FootGolf Fee: $30.00 per family of four for 9 holes.
