Raiders Win Big Foot Tournament

Sugar River Soccer played at Evansville on September 3rd. Sugar River lost, 0-3. They had 8 shots on goal and 9 saves.
On September 5th the team played at Columbus, winning 8-0.
Three goals were scored in the first period by Breckin Faber, assisted by Ryan Downing, Carter Siegenthaler, assisted by Ryan Downing and Noah Ziperski, assisted by Carter Siegenthaler. Charlie Douma scored on a penalty kick.

Heidi Folk Festival Open Meeting Notice

The Heidi Folk Festival Board will hold the annual meeting, which is open to the public, on Tuesday, September 17, 2019. This meeting starts at 6:00 p.m., for public input and feedback. The meeting will take place at the New Glarus Hotel Restaurant, small dining/meeting room.
The community involvement for this festival means a great deal to the Board as we plan for the festival each year. This notice is posted to invite you to come and share ideas and input from the 2019 festival year. Please mark your calendar for September 17th and come and join the discussion.

Homecoming Parade Entries Needed

New Glarus Homecoming is just around the corner, the New Glarus/Monticello Knights will face the Cambridge Blue Jays.
The Homecoming Parade will be held on Friday, September 27th. Line-up will start at 1:30 p.m., in the parking lot across from the high school, with the parade beginning at 2:00 p.m. All businesses and organizations are invited to put an entry in the parade.

One Cited After Accident in New Glarus

On Sunday, September 8, 2019, New Glarus Police, along with New Glarus Area EMS and New Glarus Fire Department, responded to an accident on 6th Ave and 2nd Street. According to the New Glarus Police Department, Martha Y. Lopez Torres was cited for Failure to Yield Right of Way From a Stop Sign and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance.

Fall Colors Car Cruise

On Saturday, September 14, 2019, the Sixth Annual TJ Disch Memorial Cruise will take place. Please note that this is a month earlier than in past years! Registration will take place from 9:30 a.m.-10:45 a.m., at the Monticello Fire Station. The group photo will be taken at 10:45 a.m., and the cruise leaves the Monticello Fire Station at 11:00 a.m., sharp.
All vehicles and the public are welcome, rain or shine. The cost for the cruise is $15.00 per person and $25.00 per couple.

Tribute to Veterans Celebrating 100-Year Birthday Celebration

JoAnne Krueger from the Belleville Senior Center has under taken a project to write stories of local Veterans’ experiences, to help celebrate the 100th anniversary of the American Legion this year, and also 100-year anniversary charter of Duppler-Smith Post 460, which happens next year.

Belleville Veterans Memorial Park

We are taking applications at this time for any honorable discharged Veterans, or men and women now serving in the military for our Veterans Memorial wall of names. The minimum donation is $125 per name to have someone come out and engrave names on the stone, and when we have a list of names compiled we will order the work.

The following items of unclaimed property have been found and turned in to the Belleville Police Department. If you have lost any of these items, please contact the Belleville Police Department before October 12, 2019, to identify your items and make arrangements to pick them up. All items not claimed by October 12, 2019, will be sold or disposed of properly.
