In a back and forth match between the Norsk Cowboys and the J&M Bar River-Rats, the Cowboys were eventually able to trap the Rats 34 morsels short. However, Gene Miller and Jack Gehin (Rats) did a little damage of their own when they handed Harold Schlimgen and Dave Wilborn their only loss of the night, a 3 in the fifth frame.

“It was the last dual of the season and we knew it was going to be close,” said Coach Linda Moser regarding the meet at Milton on October 17th. “The girls swam focused and determined, and they came out on top by 2 points!” The final score of the meet was Monroe/New Glarus 86, Milton 84.

A free Bluebird House Building Workshop is scheduled for Saturday, November 11, from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m., at the Town of New Glarus Garage, located at 200 Railroad Street (next to the old lumber yard) in New Glarus. The Town of New Glarus Parks Commission is sponsoring this workshop as part of its ongoing educational outreach program. The workshop is open to anyone interested in learning more about attracting wild birds to their property.

Pellitteri Waste Systems will begin serving the Village of New Glarus on January 2, 2018. The company is sending out flyers to all New Glarus residents to inform them of the change. You will have a choice of which size of trash cart to choose for your residence – 35, 65 or 95 gallons. If you do not fill out the form and send it back by November 8, 2017, a 95-gallon trash cart will be dropped off at your residence in December and you are subject to a $45.00 fee if you would like a different size after the initial delivery.
