Wisconsin Man Takes Teenage Daughter on Alaskan Adventure

Would you take a 15-year-old to “the most isolated spot in mainland Alaska”? That’s what James Campbell did, and he’s sharing his story courtesy of Belleville Public Library on Thursday, November 9th, at 7:00 p.m., at the Belleville High School Auditorium, 625 W. Church Street.

First United Church of Christ Annual Dinner

The Annual Church Dinner at First United Church of Christ, 130 E. Church St., Belleville, will be held on Saturday, November 11th, serving from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
The meal will be served family style and the menu includes Turkey, Ham, Meatballs, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Green Beans, Coleslaw, Buns, Cheese, Homemade Pies, and Beverage.

American Legion Bingo and Feather Party

Belleville American Legion Duppler-Smith Post 460, 2 W. Pearl Street in Belleville, is hosting their annual Bingo and Feather Party on Saturday, November 11.  The doors open at 6:00 p.m., and Bingo will start around 7:00 p.m. All Bingo winners receive a turkey plus an additional prize that has been donated by a local business. There will also be 50/50 raffles, food and refreshments.  
All proceeds go to supporting our veterans and sponsorship of youth programs in our community.

Veterans Day Program Set

Belleville will be honoring our area Veterans, servicemen and women.  All area Veterans are welcome to come to the Belleville High School Gymnasium on Wednesday, November 8th. Program will start at 7:00 p.m. Please be there around 6:45 p.m., so we can get you signed in. 
All 4K through 3rd graders who are going to lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance please be there with a parent around 6:45 p.m. also.

November is Hospice Palliative Care Month

Dear Editor, 
“It’s about how you live.” This theme for November’s Hospice and Palliative Care Month perfectly describes not only why people choose our compassionate care for their loved ones, but also why people like you volunteer with Agrace. Back in 1978, it was a group of volunteers who started the hospice and palliative care organization we know today as Agrace. They were bound by a shared mission: to help people in our community live better with life-limiting illness and die with dignity.

New Glarus Jr. FCCLA Halloween Fun Day

The New Glarus Jr. FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) sponsored a Halloween Fun Day at the New Glarus Middle School in the Multi-Purpose Room.

Winners from the 34th Annual Badger State Archaeological Society Native American Artifact Show

The 34th Annual Badger State Archaeological Society Native American Indian Artifact show was held on Sunday, October 22nd, in the Rhemstedt Gym in Monticello. There was over 81 tables of wonderful displays form arrowheads, pottery, blankets, copper artifacts and a lot more. There were experts on hand to identify your artifacts, and there was some wonderful new artifacts brought in. Exhibitors from Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, and Minnesota showed at the show. As always, the Boy Scout Troop #106 had an excellent lunch stand.

Haunticello Fest in Monticello

Monticello’s Haunticello will take place on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at the Monticello High School. Please enter by the main gym and concession stand. Haunticello Fest will take place after Trick or Treating, which is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. in the Village of Monticello.
The concession stand will open at 5:30 p.m., and Costume Judging will take place at 6:00 p.m., with cash prizes in five age categories, including an adult category.
