Primrose Lutheran Church Annual Fall Supper

All are welcome at the Primrose Lutheran Church Annual Fall Supper which will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017, serving from 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The menu includes Ham, Veal Balls, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Corn, Cranberry Relish, Lefse, Rolls, Cheese, Norwegian Baked Goodies, Pie and Beverage.
The cost for adults is $12.00; children 6-10, $5.00; and children 5 and under eat free. Carryouts are available for $12.00.

Grand Opening at The Chalet at Glarner Village

The New Glarus Home held a Grand Opening Celebration for The Chalet at Glarner Village on Saturday, September 30, 2017.
Visitors could tour the facility and learn how it will serve the residents of Green County.
There was a ceremonial ribbon cutting and entertainment, including the New Glarus Jodlerklub, Flag throwing and Alphorns.

Annual Harvest Fest at the Swiss Historical Village and Museum

What do beekeeping, cheese making, blacksmithing, basket making, quilting, and soap making all have in common? On Sunday, October 8, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., these traditional old-world activities will be on display at the New Glarus Swiss Historical Village and Museum's annual Harvest Fest. In addition, all 14 of the buildings that comprise the Swiss Historical Village will be open and guides will be available to share the unique history of New Glarus.

10th Anniversary of Exeter Park Celebration

A few of weekends ago, on September 11th, the Exeter Park Committee and The River Ratters joined together to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Exeter Park and the 5th year for the River Rat Reunion, respectively. It was a great opportunity to reunite old friends, welcome new families, and bring families together. Summer Haze made the atmosphere so enjoyable with their music! Thank you VERY MUCH to you and your families! The morning started off with a fishing contest. Open Auditions for the 20th Anniversary Showcase of Talent

Monroe Arts Center (MAC) will hold open auditions on Saturday, October 14th from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., and Sunday, October 15th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., for the upcoming 20th Anniversary Showcase of Talent. Auditions will take place in MAC’s Gunderson Stiles Concert Hall, 1315 11th Street, Monroe.

Ponies Beat the Comets

The Ponies volleyball team played at Argyle on September 26th, and lost in three sets.
“Monticello held its own against Argyle,” said Coach Scott Smice. “But they had too much fire power.”
On Thursday, September 28th, the Ponies honored Kriss Ace as part of Pink Night/Cancer Awareness, with shirts, a bake sale, and a speech given by Miah Brokopp and Hannah Zanow. Monticello and Albany played a tough, five set match, with the Ponies coming out on top, 3-2.

Knights Fall to Pirates

The New Glarus Volleyball team hosted Waterloo on September 26th, losing in three, 4-25; 7-25; 13-25.
Kill leaders were Julia Barnaby and Willow Lee, each with five. Barnaby also led the team in blocks, with two. Ace leaders were Zoe Moen and Lily Himmelman, each with one. Riley Parker led with seven digs, while Megan Bellefeuille and Olivia Xistris had five digs each.
The team played at Cambridge on October 3rd and will host Palmyra-Eagle on October 5th before heading to Westfield for an invitational on October 7th.

Wildcats Can't Hold On Against Cambridge

The Belleville Wildcats football team traveled to Cambridge to play the undefeated Blue Jays in a conference game on Friday, September 29th. The Wildcats were leading by two points late in the game, but couldn't hold on to the lead and lost, 19-25.

Edgewood Outswims Monroe/New Glarus

“We knew going in we weren’t going to win this one,” commented Monroe/New Glarus Coach Linda Moser about Tuesday’s swim meet against Edgewood. “So several of the girls swam different events. It’s a way to shake things up before we hit the really tough part of the season, and it gives them a break from their normal swims. They swam with determination tonight, and it showed in their times and finishes.”
The final scores of the meet were Varsity: Madison Edgewood 104, Monroe/New Glarus 66 and JV: Monroe/New Glarus 58, Madison Edgewood 34.
