New Glarus Class of 1962 Reunion

The New Glarus High School Class of 1962 met on September 8-9, 2017, for their 55 year reunion.  We had an ^all classes^" gathering at Puempel's on the night of the 8th and lunch at the Landhaus on the 9th with 13 of the members of the class present. "

<strong>Western Technical College Announces Graduates</strong>
Western Technical College is pleased to announce the names of the 2016-17 academic year graduates. A total of 1,267 graduates received an Associate’s Degree, Technical Diploma, or Certificate in the 2016-17 academic year. The graduates include: <strong>Bradley Schilder</strong>, Monticello, IT-Network Systems Administration Program and <strong>Ian Matchett</strong>, New Glarus, Welding Program.

Fall Color Car Cruise Raises Money for Scholarship Fund

On Saturday, October 14, 2017, the Fall Color Car Cruise In memory of TJ Disch, took place, leaving the Monticello Fire Station around 11:30 a.m. All proceeds from the Fall Color Car Cruise go towards the Monticello Fire Department's TJ Disch Scholarship Fund. This year the group raised approximately $3,800. The 2017 recipients of the Monticello Fire and Rescue Scholarship were Brittany Disch, Chandler Hansen and Megan Lehr.

Wildcats Compete at Baertschi Invitational

The Baertschi Invitational in Albany has proven to be one of our favorite meets. This year, conditions were damp but the rain held off until the races were over.
The Wildcats had two boys within two and three spots of medaling. Julian Fullbright led with boys with a time of 19:48, followed by a strong run from Caden O'Rourke (19:52). Rounding out the rest of Varsity were Derek Shrader (20:28), Sean Campbell (20:32), Gary Salmela (20:46) and Alan Woller (21:56). The boys placed 6th of 11 teams in the small school division.

Fire at Puempel's Olde Tavern

On Friday night, October 6th, firefighters from New Glarus, Monticello, Belleville, Monroe, Juda, Mount Horeb and Brooklyn, as well as New Glarus Area EMS and New Glarus Police, responded to a report of a fire in Puempel's Olde Tavern on 6th Avenue (STH 39) in New Glarus.
The fire, which began in a fan in the men's restroom, spread into walls and the ceiling in places.

Monticello Fall Clean Up to be Held October 16, 2017

<strong>All items for Monticello’s Fall Clean Up must be separated/sorted and curbside by 7:00 a.m., Monday, October 16, 2017.</strong>
All debris, excluding brush, must be in an area not larger than four feet wide by ten feet long by four feet high.
Debris accepted are furniture and miscellaneous junk, paint cans (empty or open with paint dried), empty burn barrels, metal and appliances and all small loose articles, which must be placed in an open, disposable container.
