Monticello Fire Department Plans on Second Assistant Chief Position

The Monticello Village Board met on Wednesday, September 20, 2017. Calvin Boldebuck from Congressman Mark Pocan’s office spoke to the board during the Public Appearances section of the meeting.
Boldebuck noted that Pocan’s office would be available to assist the village in applying for grants for a number of projects.

Monticello Fall Clean Up

Monticello Fall Clean Up
All items for Monticello’s Fall Clean Up must be separated/sorted and curbside by 7:00 a.m., Monday, October 16, 2017. <strong>Refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers, air conditioners and anything containing Freon must have the Freon removed by a licensed person and a certified statement needs to be received by the village clerk by Monday, October 9, 2017. </strong>All debris, excluding brush, must be in an area not larger than four feet wide by ten feet long by four feet high.

Fall Color Car Cruise

On Saturday, October 14, 2017, the Fall Color Car Cruise, In memory of TJ Disch, will take place. Registration will take place from 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m., at the Monticello Fire Department. The cruise leaves the Monticello Fire Station at 11:15 a.m., sharp. All vehicles and the public are welcome, rain or shine. The cost for the cruise is $25.00 for couples, or $15.00 per person. Food will be available for purchase prior to departure at the fire station. There will be door prizes at every stop.

Primrose Lutheran Church Annual Fall Supper

All are welcome at the Primrose Lutheran Church Annual Fall Supper which will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017, serving from 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The menu includes Ham, Veal Balls, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Corn, Cranberry Relish, Lefse, Rolls, Cheese, Norwegian Baked Goodies, Pie and Beverage.
The cost for adults is $12.00; children 6-10, $5.00; and children 5 and under eat free. Carryouts are available for $12.00.

Belleville Bobcats Wreath Fundraiser

The 25th annual Belleville Bobcat Football wreath sale is underway! Your purchase of a wreath will help support the Bobcat Youth Football program. The funds raised in past years have helped keep the equipment up to date, pay for game day officials, assure field maintenance, and have allowed us to keep the cost per player at a reasonable rate.

2017-2018 Belleville Community Calendars Are Available

The Belleville Community Calendar was distributed to school-age children and is available to community members.
Community Calendars are available from the Main Office in each of the schools in the district, and community members can pick up a calendar at Burreson’s Foods, Belleville Public Library, Village Hall, and Belleville Area Senior Center.
The calendar is sponsored by BCHIP, the Belleville PTO, the Belleville Community Club, and the Belleville School District.

School Board Week Celebrated October 1-7

The School District of Belleville will join school districts throughout the state to celebrate the local education leaders during Wisconsin School Board Week on October 1-7.
Executive Director of the Wisconsin Association of School Boards John Ashley said, “School board members are ordinary citizens who undertake the extraordinary challenge and responsibility of leading and governing our local public school districts.”
