Dog Show Planned in Support of the Belleville Public Library Building Fund

This first-year event will bring together our love of dogs and libraries into one special and lively afternoon. The Friends of the Belleville Public Library and the Library Fundraising Committee are excited to host what we hope will become an annual event.
The Howl at the Moon Dog Show will be held during UFO Day on Saturday, October 28, at the Library Park in Belleville, starting at 3:00 p.m.

Root Presented With Quilt of Valor

Belleville resident Jim Root was recently presented with a Quilt of Valor at his daughter's home when his family came together to celebrate Jim and Joan Root's 63rd wedding anniversary. Jim entered the US Army in May of 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1961.

HELEN REINHARDT

Helen Reinhardt, age 70 of Belleville, passed away October 9, 2017, at home. Helen was born on July 2, 1947, in Madison, and returned home to the small town of Dayton, Wisconsin, with her parents, Earl and Rose (Disch) Ethridge. A place she enjoyed and shared a happy childhood with brothers, sisters, cousins, and friends.
After graduation from Belleville High School, she moved and worked in Madison for the next 12 years. During this time she married Ervin Reinhardt and was blessed with a daughter, Denise.

CAROL J. MARTY

Carol J. Marty, age 87, formerly of Monticello and Monroe, died Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at The New Glarus Home. She was born on March 7, 1930, to Alvin and Hilda (Matzke) Priewe in Monroe.
She was a 1948 graduate of Monroe High School. Carol worked at The Monroe Clinic until her marriage to Henry J. Marty on January 20, 1952, in Monroe. They then farmed together on the Marty family farm in Mount Pleasant Township until they retired in 1984, and moved to Monroe.

Judith Ann Hofmeister, age 77 of Belleville, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017, at the Ingleside Manor in Mount Horeb. She was born on March 12, 1940, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison to her parents, Howard and Gweneth (Smith) Lynch.

Harvest Fest a Success at the Swiss Historical Village & Museum

Dear Editor,
On Sunday, October 8th, our New Glarus Historical Society hosted Harvest Fest at the Swiss Historical Village & Museum. Harvest Fest is our annual celebration of old world traditions set amidst buildings that showcase the history of New Glarus. Nearly 500 adults and children joined us this year.
Many thanks to all the artisans and volunteers who made Harvest Fest such a success. Special thanks to Casey’s General Store and the New Glarus Brewing Company for financial donations that helped us promote Harvest Fest.
