Pre-Participation Sports Screenings at Monroe Clinic

Summer is here, which means it is time for summer camps, leagues, and school athletics. Make sure athletes are ready for the game by completing a pre-participation sports screening or wellness physical. These ensure young athletes are healthy and ready to perform. To receive a pre-participation sports screening come to a walk-in clinic on July 19, from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m., or August 2, from 4:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m., at Monroe Clinic Family Medicine, 515 22nd Avenue, Monroe.

Green County Bird Tests Positive For West Nile Virus

The Green County Health Department reports that a dead Blackbird found in Brodhead on June 27, 2017, has tested positive for West Nile virus. This is the first bird that tested positive for West Nile virus in Green County since surveillance for the mosquito-transmitted virus began May 1, 2017.

16th Annual Pedal For Paws Benefit Bike Ride

All new routes depart downtown from Village Park in New Glarus. 25, 45, and 65-mile routes with varying elevations up 3,500 feet. Helmets are required for all participants.
Check in starts at 7:00 a.m. Complimentary rest/refreshment stops. SAG service provided until 2:00 p.m.

Sunborn Flowers to Host Green County Master Gardeners

Sunborn Flowers, 9593 Overland Road, Mount Horeb, WI, will be hosting the Green County Master Gardeners for a tour on Thursday, July 27th, at 7:00 p.m. This tour is also open to the general public for participation. Join the tour of this unique flower farm where you will see a variety of shrubs, perennials, bulbs and annuals all planted for cutting for bouquets. Sunborn Flowers farms intensively on about four irrigated acres, with three hoophouses. Carol Larsen, along with her son, Hans Larsen, will be our tour guides for the evening.

Belleville Bobcat Youth Football, Inc. Equipment Handout

Equipment fitting and handout will be on Sunday, July 16th, and Thursday, July 20th, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Belleville Intermediate School/C.H. Hageman Gym. Any boy or girl who will be in grades 4-8 this fall and either attends or resides in the Belleville School District can participate. All players must register online before they can receive their equipment. The Swiss Church Cemetery Committee is hosting two free walking tours of the historic Swiss Church Cemetery, in the heart of New Glarus, on Saturday, August 5th, starting at 9:00 a.m.  The first tour offered is a repeat of the previous year and will start at the Swiss Historical Village cemetery in front of the log church, 612 7th Avenue, New Glarus, at 9:00 a.m.
