Annual American Legion Turkey Dinner

The New Glarus American Legion Post #141 will be hosting its Annual Turkey Dinner on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at the Legion located on the corner of 2nd Street and 12th Avenue.
All New Glarus Legion members and their wives, Auxiliary members, widows and widowers are invited to join them. Cocktails begin at 5:45 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.
The Legion meeting will follow the meal.

Green Cares Food Pantry to Host Fundraiser

Please mark your calendar to attend the Green Cares Food Pantry Holiday Fundraiser on Sunday, December 6, 2015, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Barnaby’s Monticello House. The holiday party is a dressy affair, with sparkling wine, passed hors d’oeuvres, desserts and holiday music by Andy Yaun and Julie Ruegsegger. The cost is only $30 per person. Prepayments or cash donations can be sent to Green Cares Holiday Fundraiser, PO Box 2, Monticello, WI 53570. Participants are also welcome to pay at the door.

Southwestern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission Launches Comprehensive Plan Process for the Village of Monticello

Southwestern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (SWWRPC) is working with the Village of Monticello to update their 2005 Comprehensive Plan. The update to the 2005 Comprehensive Plan will provide the Village of Monticello with a single vision to unite decision-making and coordinate city resources and services through 2025. This process is supported by the valuable efforts of the Village of Monticello, Green County Development Corporation (GCDC), and University of Wisconsin Extension (UW-Extension).

Monticello FCCLA Donates 590 Pounds of Food to Green Cares Food Pantry

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Monticello High School FCCLA chapter's annual Trick or Treat Food Drive to benefit Green Cares Food Pantry.  Fourteen FCCLA members were able to collect 590 pounds of products and $136.  In addition, our FCCLA chapter made a $100 donation to Green Cares.

I heard about this program as junior and learned I could further my education in the field of computer science. I applied this year because I thought it would give me a great start in the working world of electronics.

First United Church of Christ Annual Dinner

The Annual Church Dinner at First United Church of Christ, 130 E. Church St., Belleville, will take place on Saturday, November 14th.  Serving Family Style from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., the menu includes: Turkey, Ham, Meatballs, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Green Beans, Coleslaw, Buns, Cheese and Homemade Pies. 
Adults, $11.00; Children 6-12 years, $5.00; and Children 5 years and under, free.  Carry outs $11.00 and deliveries available within a five mile radius.

Ribbon Cutting At Kate's Hair Studio

A Grand Opening Celebration and ribbon cutting was held last Friday at Kate's Hair Studio, owned by Kate Fox, who has beern a hairsylist for 14 years. Friends and family, as well representatives from neighboring businesses, the Chamber of Commerce and the Vilage of Belleville, were on hand to show support and wish her well. The salon will be generally open on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12 noon to 8:00 p.m. Saturdays will be by appointment only.

“Fetch aims to improve the in-store buying experience by helping shoppers find discounts, make lists and easily pay at the checkout,” said owner Darin Burreson. “If shoppers don’t have a smartphone, we have tablets that they can use and all staff are fully trained in using Fetch.”

Belleville EMS Fundraiser Vendor Fair

Belleville EMS is hosting a vendor fair and bake sale on Sunday, November 22nd, from 1:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m.  Proceeds will go towards replacing two defibrillators, one of the most vital pieces of equipment on our ambulances. 
We will have at least 12 vendors ready to help you find the perfect holiday gift for the folks on your list. We will also have raffle tickets for sale.

American Legion Bingo and Feather Party

The Belleville American Legion Duppler-Smith Post #460 is hosting their annual Bingo and Feather Party on Saturday, November 14.  The doors open at 6:00 p.m., and Bingo will start around 7:00 p.m. All Bingo winners receive a turkey, plus an additional prize that has been donated by a local business.
There will also be 50/50 raffles, food and refreshments.  All proceeds go to supporting our Veterans and sponsorship of youth programs in our community.
