New Glarus High School is currently hosting a student teacher from the University of Newcastle in Australia. The student teacher is Julian Legge, who is from the Central Coast, which is two hours north of Sydney. Julian will be working with Jonathan Goodness, the New Glarus High School Physical Education teacher.

The Monticello Excellence in Education Fund announced the 2015 Grant Recipients at a presentation during a recent Monticello Schools staff reception. Since 2007 the Monticello EIE has supported 95 grant projects and awarded more than $27,000 of funding into the school.

Remember about a month ago, the warmer weather and the colorful fall foliage? Weren’t we blessed and thankful for the wonderful colors? How about during the hot summer? We were all thankful to have some shade from trees. The birds, squirrels, rabbits, and other critters were thankful to have a home and food from the trees. Do you want to keep the colors and shade coming or wish to keep the birds singing and the animals cavorting? The trees and forests always need to be replenished. One way of replenishing them is to replant new, younger trees.
