Turner Hall of Monroe's Swiss Heritage Series is pleased to partner with the Swiss Center of North America in New Glarus in hosting a book reading/signing by author Diccon Bewes on Tuesday, June 9, at 7:30 p.m., in the Grand Hall of Turner Hall, 1217 17th Avenue, Monroe. 
Originally from England, Bewes has been based in Switzerland for several years and is a full-time writer. His entertaining and informative book, ^Swiss-Watching^" (2010)

Belleville Police Department Celebrates National Police Week

The Belleville Police Department celebrated National Police Week. National Police Week runs from May 10-16. In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15th as Peace Officer Memorial Day and the week in which the date falls as Police Week.
Currently, tens of thousands of law enforcement officers from around the world converge on Washington, D.C., to participate in a number of planned events which honor those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Badger Truck Center, a family-owned commercial truck dealership, recently announced the acquisition of New Glarus Motors (New Glarus, Wisconsin). New Glarus Motors was purchased in 1996 by Jeff Opie, who ran the organization for almost 20 years. Located in a small historic community, Badger Truck looks forward to expanding the team in New Glarus, and continuing to provide the community with a solid organization, that enjoys providing quality vehicles for its citizens.
