UW-River Falls Students Shine at UW System Symposium for Undergraduate Research

Ruth Wittwer

Ruth Wittwer died peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2015, at Agrace Hospice surrounded by her loving family, after a two-week struggle with a Staph infection in her knee. She was born on December 10, 1931, in Davis, Illinois, to Fred and Emma (Banziger) Stuber, who were Swiss immigrants.
Ruth graduated from Verona High School in 1949. On March 16, 1950, she was united in marriage to Cloyance Wittwer and they farmed south of Verona for forty years. They retired in 1990 and moved to their new home and neighborhood, which they thoroughly enjoyed for the next 25 years.

The Alliance recently designated Monroe Clinic is one of four hospitals achieving QualityPath status for total hip and total knee replacement. In January 2014, Monroe Clinic launched the Joint Replacement Center for Excellence, a program that takes an innovative approach to joint replacement surgery.

Raiders Winning Streak Continues as They Demolish Platteville

With the chill of winter continuing into the soccer season, the Raiders Soccer Team gave their fans the opportunity to stay warm with excitement and cheering as the team displayed tremendous ability and thrilling play.  Leading the Capital Conference with nine wins and one loss, and staying undefeated in conference, the Raiders continue to play well on both sides of the ball.  Vanessa Narveson leads the team and the conference in goals scored with 10.

April 2015 marks the end of two horrific blots on American history. April 9th was commemorated as the 150th anniversary of the end of the Civil War, as General Robert E. Lee surrendered to General U. S. Grant at Appomattox Courthouse in Virginia.
