Monticello Dominates Deerfield, Brodhead

On Saturday, May 9, the Monticello softball team traveled to Juda to play two games: one against Deerfield and one against Brodhead.
In the first game the Ponies dismantled Deerfield, 7-0.
Courtney Leuzinger pitched a no-hitter for the Ponies, facing only 20 batters in the shortened game because of the time limit.
^She (Leuzinger) was really on her game hitting all of her spots

Quilt of Valor Presented to Ziehli

Last week, Belleville resident and Veteran, Paul Ziehli, was presented with a beautiful quilt made by the Sugar River Quilters for Quilts of Valor. The quilt presented was the first to be completed by the group.
The mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor. The Quilts of Valor Foundation estimates that a single quilt costs over $250 to complete.

Band and Choir Students Entertain a Full Crowd at Spring Concerts

Last Thursday, Belleville sixth grade band and choir students entertained a full high school auditorium.
Band students, under the direction of Stephanie Meir, preformed 18 selections with several students performing solos or small group selections that included ^Old MacDonald Had a Band

Martin Selected as Dane County Fairest of the Fair

Mariah Martin, daughter of Rod and Susie Martin of Brooklyn, has been chosen to serve as the 2015 Dane County Fairest of the Fair during the selection ceremony on April 12. Martin is a freshman at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, majoring in Life Sciences Communication and is active in the Association of Women in Agriculture, National Agri-Marketing Association and Badger Cheese Club.

BHS Musicians to Hold 'Jazz in the Park' Concert

Belleville Band and Choir Students Travel to New Orleans

During spring break this year, 82 high school band and choir students, along with eight chaperones, boarded a bus headed to New Orleans.
They experienced a wide variety of activities, which included tours of historic places like the Oak Alley Plantation and Mardi Gras World. They experienced foods and music of the South during a Jazz Riverboat dinner cruise. The students also had performances at the Riverwalk and in the historic Jackson Square.
One of the most rewarding and most memorable events of the trip was the service project ^Rebuilding Together New Orleans.^"
