One Achord to Perform at Zwingli Brotherhood Steak Fry

On Saturday, August 24, 2019, from 4:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m., join the members of One Achord singing group as they share tunes that we all know and love. Pop, Country, Folk and Rock are just a few of the genres that will be featured. They are singing because they are part of 2nd Annual Zwingli Brotherhood Steak Fry.
Twelve oz rib steaks, cooked to order, fresh picked corn on the cob, baked potato, coleslaw and roll topped off with cool tasty ice cream. This is a meal not to miss!

Two End of Summer Events

On Wednesday, August 21st, the Belleville School District and the Belleville Area Cares Coalition will sponsor a Family Movie Night following school registration in the Middle/High School gymnasium from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The movie is <i>Zootopia</i>. All are welcome to attend.

Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over National Traffic Campaign

The Belleville and New Glarus Police Departments will be out with other law enforcement agencies throughout Wisconsin and the rest of the nation for the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” crackdown on drunken drivers from August 16 to September 2, which includes the Labor Day weekend.
Drunken driving is entirely preventable. If we can deter people from getting behind the wheel when they’re not sober, we will make progress toward the goal of reaching zero preventable traffic deaths in Wisconsin.

Belleville Police Receive Donation for Shop With a Cop

Last weekend, the Village of Belleville had the privilege of hosting the Badger Trail Races Ultra-Marathon. More than 500 athletes were registered for this inaugural event. The Belleville Police Department assisted with security and traffic control for the participants. What a great success, and plans are now underway for races in May and August 2020. Registration for both of these events start on September 1st.

KENNETH E. ZIMMERMAN SR.

Kenneth E. Zimmerman Sr., age 83 of New Glarus, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2019, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison after a brief struggle with cancer. He was born on May 2, 1936 in Monroe, the son of Albert and Wilma (Arn) Zimmerman.

ROGER J. OLSON

Roger J. Olson, age 93 of Belleville, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at his home. He was born on October 17, 1925, the son of Einar and Johanna (Kaupanger) Olson in Stoughton, WI.
Roger attended the Liberty Grade School near Deerfield. On October 26, 1968, he was united in marriage to Lavon Schluter-Stolts in Rockford, IL. Roger had worked for Oscar Mayer, operated the Transport Oil service station in Madison, and retired from OEC. He was a member of the Primrose Lutheran Church.

Open House for New Pastor

The New Glarus Bible Church wishes to extend an invitation to welcome their new Pastor, Darrell Boomer, and his family to the church and community at an Open House to be held on Sunday, August 25, 2019, from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
The New Glarus Bible Church is located at 207 6th Street and the gathering will take place in the Multi-Purpose room. Light refreshments will be served.

Belleville Community Picnic - What a Blast!

Belleville's Community Picnic was held August 8-11, at Sugar River and Community Parks.
Thanks to volunteers, the weekend was packed with music, great food, tournaments, fireworks, family -friendly activities and a car show on Sunday in Library park. More photos can be seen in the Photo Gallery: https://www.postmessengerrecorder.com/photos.
