The school supplies are on the shelf at local stores and students are beginning to think about back to school. Students and school staff are not the only ones returning to school. Senior adults who were busy with outdoor summer pursuits may find they have time on their hands. Using this time to help others is a great way to improve the quality of life for both the volunteer and the children who meet with the volunteer.

To lessen the burden of time and money for families, the New Glarus Elementary, Middle, and High Schools have significantly shortened the school supply lists for all students in the district for the 2019-2020 school year. In addition, the district has eliminated most fees for summer school, after-school adventures, and middle school sports, and reduced the fees for high school sports.

Parents and children, come be our guest at the Opening Kick-off Celebration with food, games and fun Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at 6:30 p.m., at the New Glarus Bible Church! Awana is a bible-based, Christ-centered program for children ages 3 through 6th grade. Kids learn about the Word of God through memorizing bible verses, singing songs, and playing fun games. Some of the special events planned are hayrides, model car racing, and roller skating.

Tofflers Tuesday Trivia returns September 10th at 7:00 p.m. For each person that plays, either solo or as part of a team, Tofflers Pub & Grill and Rippe/Keane Marketing will donate $2.00 to a New Glarus Scholarship Fund that is awarded at the end of the school year to one or more graduating seniors.
