Second Annual Zwingli Brotherhood Steak Fry a Huge Success

Members and friends of the Zwingli United Church of Christ Brotherhood men's group hit the grills Saturday, August 24th. The most amazing smells filled the air in the Village of Monticello. Generously cut, tasty grilled, 12 oz rib steaks, baked potatoes, coleslaw and delicious sweet corn were the guests of honor for this second annual feast.

Belleville Police and Fire Departments to Host Public Safety Night

The Belleville Police and Fire Departments are hosting Public Safety Night in Library Park on Thursday, September 5, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. One of the goals of this event is to strengthen neighborhood spirit and partnerships among public safety agencies and the community.
There will be hot dogs, brats, and chips as long as they last, a bounce house and balloon twisters for the kids, and vehicle displays by several public safety agencies. A local K-9 team will provide a demonstration, and Mounted Patrol will be on scene.

New Glarus Woods Trail Run

The Friends of New Glarus Woods State Park hosted the first annual New Glarus Woods Trail Run event on August 17th. 185 runners from across Wisconsin, Illinois and a few other states participated in Saturday's races including 1, 5 and 10 mile routes that zig-zagged across the park's hilly trails.
Participants parked at the New Glarus High School and as they boarded the shuttle to the park Kevin Lague set the mood by playing accordion. At the park, George Albright and Heinz Mattmann played their Alphorns, inspiring the runners at the start line.
