Sugar River Soccer Club Assessments

In preparation for 2017 Fall soccer team development, the Sugar River Soccer Club (the newly merged Belleville and New Glarus Soccer Clubs) invites all girls and boys entering grades 6 – 8 in the Fall of 2017 to participate in an extended practice assessment on the following dates and locations: Girls assessment dates: Tuesday, June 20, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Belleville HS practice field and Friday, June 23, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., New Glarus MS soccer fields. Boys assessment dates: Monday, June 26, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Belleville HS practice field and Wednesday, June 28, 6:00 p.m.

Capitol Conference – Baseball All Conference and Player of the Year

The Capitol Conference is proud to announce their 2017 South Division Baseball All Conference and Player of the Year selections.
<strong>1st Team Selections</strong>

Raiders Finish Season

It was a season that nobody wanted to see end early. The Sugar River Raiders were eliminated from the WIAA tournament on Thursday, June 8th, as they hosted the Mount Horeb Vikings. The Raiders were the number two seed, while as the Vikings were the number three seed.
The Raiders lost 1-0, and goalie Rachael Heittola had seven saves for the game. They finish the season with a 21-2 record.

Postal Carriers Collect Food Donations

On May 13th, the Postal Service carriers from Belleville and New Glarus collected 1,500 pounds of food for the local food pantries. On May 20th, Boy Scout Troop 61 collected 256 pounds of food for the Belleville Food Pantry and during the month of May the Belleville Public Library collected 233 pounds of food for the Belleville Food Pantry. Thank you to the area residents for the generous donations and the boy scouts and the mail carriers for all their collection work.

Free Fishing Adventure

Looking for something fun to do with your children? The New Glarus FFA Alumni and Wisconsin DNR will be holding its First Annual<strong> F</strong>ree <strong>F</strong>ishing <strong>A</strong>dventure on Saturday, June 24, 2017, from 9:00 a.m.- Noon, at Hoesly Pond, at the intersection of Hwy 69 and Hwy W.
Children of all ages can participate in Fishing With a Parent. Bring your own gear, some gear will be available to use and bait will be provided.
Lunch will be provided by New Glarus FFA Alumni.

New Glarus Area EMS Hosts Open House and Run/Walk Fundraiser

Before the Polkafest and Beer, Bacon and Cheese festivities got started on Saturday, June 10, the New Glarus Area Emergency Medical Services (EMS) held its annual community Open House and Keeping the Pulse run/walk.
The Keeping the Pulse run/walk began in front of the EMS station, and medals were awarded to the top finishers.

Monticello Students Continue Community Service

A group of volunteers, including the Monticello Girls Softball Team, continued Monticello's Community Day of Service projects by scraping, cleaning and painting the exterior of M&M Cafe in Monticello recently. The students were assisted by master painters Jules Cappelle and Linn Lederman.

Monticello Homecoming

The Monticello Community Club would like to welcome you to our annual celebration in Monticello, beginning with Softball on Thursday, July 6th, and continuing throughout the weekend. We have many activities that you are welcome to come and watch, and even participate in! Again this year, we have the Carnival for the kids. The Carnival will begin on Friday with Wristband Special (the only wristband special over the weekend) for $15.00 from 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.
