New Glarus Area EMS Hosts Open House and Run/Walk Fundraiser

Before the Polkafest and Beer, Bacon and Cheese festivities got started on Saturday, June 10, the New Glarus Area Emergency Medical Services (EMS) held its annual community Open House and Keeping the Pulse run/walk.
The Keeping the Pulse run/walk began in front of the EMS station, and medals were awarded to the top finishers.
Public Safety Organizations, including Small World Childcare, Monroe Clinic Hospital Staff, New Glarus Police and New Glarus Fire Department, were a part of Saturday's Open House. MedFlight landed in Glarner Park at around 10:30 a.m., and people could go out and ask questions of the doctors and nurses on board.
The event provided an opportunity for those of all ages to learn more about emergency medicine, enjoy fun activities and good food, and meet the people who respond to calls for help in the New Glarus community. The event is an important annual fundraiser to support the work of EMS, and every dollar raised goes to support the ambulance service and the equipment it needs to provide around the clock care, 365 days of the year.
