<strong>UW-Green Bay Announces Spring 2017 Honors</strong>
The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay has made public the names of students receiving academic honors for the spring 2017 semester. Students who earn a 4.0 grade point average, which represents all “A” grades, receive highest honors. High honors go to those earning 3.99 to 3.75 grade point averages. Honors are given to students earning 3.74 to 3.50 grade point averages. All students were full-time in the spring term, earning 12 or more credits of graded coursework.

There was plenty to do in New Glarus last weekend, with Polkafest, Beer, Bacon &amp; Cheese and the New Glarus Area EMS Open House. Polkafest kicked off on Friday night with the David Austin band performing as a tribute to the late Roger Bright. Dan Carey from New Glarus Brewing Company was on hand to tap a wooden keg of Spotted Cow, much to the delight of the crowd. Polkafest continued with bands under the tent and at the New Glarus Hotel and Puempel's Olde Tavern. Beer, Bacon &amp; Cheese filled the downtown on Saturday with people anxious to try the tasty treats!

Fifty-five fifth and sixth grade New Glarus safety patrollers and twenty-two outstanding chaperones attended the 74th Annual Wisconsin Safety Patrol Congress in Wisconsin Dells on May 18th and 19th.  The Congress is organized by AAA Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation and the Wisconsin Dells Visitor &amp; Convention Bureau. The purpose of the Congress is to recognize and reward students who faithfully serve as school safety patrols during the course of the school year.

A successful nutrition education program is getting a new name to make it relevant and accessible to more audiences.
FoodWIse, formerly known as the Wisconsin Nutrition Education Program, or WNEP, has a long legacy of providing nutrition education to Wisconsin families and individuals with limited incomes. While the program remains strong, much has changed at the national, state and local level since it first began.
