Wildcats Beat Vanguards

The Belleville Wildcats varsity baseball team hosted Pecatonica on April 11th. The Wildcats only scored 1 run in the 4th, and Pec won the game, 15-6.
Carson Syse was 1x3 at bat, scoring 1 run, while Owen Stoikes was 1x2 at bat and Kaden DeSmet, Devin Frydenlund and Aidan Keyes were all 1x3 at bat.
Carson Syse and Aidan Keyes shared pitching duties, both striking out 2.
On April 12th, the Wildcats hosted Wisconsin Heights. The Wildcats scored early and often, holding the Vanguards to just 3 runs. The final score was Belleville 9, Wisconsin Heights 3.

Glarner Knights Victorious Over Marshall

The New Glarus Knights varsity baseball team played at Marshall on April 12th. The Knights took an early lead and sealed their 13-2 victory with 8 runs in the 7th inning.
Brett Warrell went 3x4 at bat for the Knights, scoring 2 runs, while Easton Dreyfus, Patrick Alt and Ethan Friedrich were all 2x4, with Dreyfus and Alt scoring 1 run each and Friedrich scoring 2. Leyton Mihlbauer, Brennan Butler, Eli Zimmerman all scored 2 runs each, while Dylan Fritz scored 1.

New Glarus Girls Basketball Awards

It was a historic season for the New Glarus girls basketball program, setting a school record with 21 wins! First Conference Championship since 2006 and second Regional Championship in school history, making it to the Sectional Finals for the second time in school history before falling to the undefeated and State Champions, Mineral Point.
Congratulations ladies - your school, coaches and community are proud of you all.

New Glarus Middle and High School Bands Perform at the 2022 WSMA Large Group Band Festival

On Wednesday, April 6th, the New Glarus Middle and High School Bands performed at the WSMA Large Group Band Festival at Wisconsin Heights.
The groups performed 2-3 pieces for a panel of judges for a rating, as well as a small workshop.
Congratulations to our 6th Grade Band, 7th and 8th Grade Band, and our High School Band. They all received #1 ratings in their respective classes! 6th Grade Band – Class M-1 Rating; 7th and 8th Grade Band – Class C-1 Rating; High School Band – Class A-1 Rating.

DATCP Farm Center Releases Online Farm Culture Course for Agricultural Service Providers

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection’s (DATCP) Farm Center announced today the release of a free virtual course that will help agricultural service providers understand the unique stresses and challenges of farming, handle difficult conversations, and recognize signs and symptoms of stress with farm clients. Funded through Gov. Tony Evers’ 2021-23 biennial budget, this course is a part of the Farm Center’s Farmer Wellness Program that creates and connects Wisconsin farmers to mental health resources.

The Green County Ag Chest invites area girls to consider being a candidate for their Community Dairy Queen Program. To be eligible, you must be a sophomore, junior or senior for the upcoming school year. You must attend the local school or have the community address or phone number of the community you wish to represent. The Community Dairy Queen is one of 11 queens that represent their community, Green County, and Wisconsin in the promotion of dairy products, resources, industries, tourism and people; especially the youth and youth organizations.

The New Glarus Lions Club Annual Pancake Breakfast will take place on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at the New Glarus Hotel, 100 6th Avenue, from 8:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.
The All You Can Eat Breakfast menu includes Pancakes, Scrambled Eggs, Sausage, Applesauce, Cheese, Coffee and Milk.
