Sunset Ridge Dairy Farm to Host 42nd Annual Green County Breakfast on the Farm

The Green County Ag Chest is eager to announce the return of the 42nd Annual Breakfast on the Farm event. On Saturday, May 28, 2022, Sunset Ridge Dairy Farm, owned and operated by Duane and Jeanne Meier and David and Tiffany Meier, graciously invites you to join them at the farm for a hearty breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage, cheese, homemade coffee cake, milk, coffee and orange juice, along with strawberry ice cream sundaes. Breakfast will be served from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

New Glarus Agriculture Department Plant Sale

On Thursday, May 5th, and Friday, May 6th, from 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m., and Saturday, May 7th, from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m., the New Glarus Ag Department will be holding a plant sale at the high school, 1701 2nd Street in New Glarus.
A large variety of plants will be for sale and all funds raised support the Ag classes at New Glarus High School.

New Glarus FFA Alumni World Champion Cheese Fundraiser

The New Glarus FFA Alumni is holding a drive thru world champion cheese fundraiser on two Fridays, April 29th and May 6th. Both fundraisers will be held from 3:45 p.m.-6:30 p.m., at the New Glarus High School, 1701 2nd Street, in the south parking lot - signs will be posted to direct you and Alumni members and current FFA members will be on the sidewalk to assist you with the ordering process.

Jass Club Meets at Tofflers Pub & Grill

The newly created Glarner Jassverein is working to grow the popularity of the traditional Swiss card game Jass in New Glarus.
Jass is a trick-taking game, similar to Euchre or Sheepshead, and was once popular in Green County. Now the Glarner Jassverein is seeking new and experienced players of Jass. No experience is required, just an interest in the game.
The group meets upstairs at Tofflers Pub & Grill, 200 5th Avenue in New Glarus, every Sunday at 7:00 p.m. There is no cost, and regular attendance is not required.

ROGER A. STOLL

Roger A. Stoll, age 76 of rural Belleville, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. He was born on May 26, 1945, in Monroe, WI, the son of Charles and Mary (Miller) Stoll.

New Glarus 4-H Members Clean Portion of Highway 39

On Saturday, April 23rd, members of the New Glarus 4-H club cleaned a portion of Highway 39, outside of New Glarus, by picking up trash. Doing this activity through Adopt-A-Highway is one of many volunteer activities that the club participates in.

Green County Deputies, SRT Team Assist Albany Police Department

On Sunday, April 24, 2022, at 7:27 p.m., Albany Police, assisted by Green County Sheriff’s Deputies, attempted a warrant arrest at a residence in the 200 block of N. Summit Street, Village of Albany.
Law enforcement on scene attempted to contact Donald W. Pitman, 55, Albany. Pitman came outside and retreated back into the residence upon observing officers on scene. Deputies and Officers on scene attempted contact with the Pitman for an extended period of time with no success.

Monticello Easter Egg Hunt

The annual Monticello Easter Egg Hunt was held on Saturday, April 16, 2022, in the Monticello Village Park. The youngest age group is 0-2 years and the oldest age group is fourth grade. The Easter Bunny was present to greet the children and was also available for photos. Some of the eggs contained notes that said the child had won a prize and a few won Grand Prizes (Walmart Gift cards).

The piano students of Carolyn Hilliard presented their annual spring recital on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at Zwingli Church in Monticello.
The following graduating seniors were honored: Kayden Dopp, Ben Lukszys, Helen Marty, Riley O'Flanagan and Sidney O'Flanagan.
