NGM Football Opens Season August 20

New season. New conference. New team. If you like all things new, this upcoming football season is custom made for you.
This fall NGM will be a new member of a new conference, the Southwest Conference (SWC), not to be confused with the SWAC which Belleville will be playing in. Other members of the SWC are Dodgeville, Platteville, Prairie du Chien, Richland Center, River Valley, and Brodhead/Juda. Yes, NGM will be the smallest school in the conference.

Raiders Advance to Round 2

The Belleville Raiders Home Talent baseball team played and hosted its first playoff game in franchise history. The Raiders, as the one seed, battled the eight seed Wiota. The Raiders won 5-0 over Wiota.
Justin Langley pitched for seven innings, striking out 11 allowing no runs. Curtis Sheahan came into the game to pitch the last two, striking out four.

Celebrate Grasslands! at the New Glarus Public Library

'Celebrate Grasslands!' is a traveling exhibit created by the Southern Driftless Grasslands, a public-private partnership with a mission to support the conservation of grasslands to benefit the region's wildlife, water, farms, and communities. Made up of three double-sided banners, the exhibit showcases the interconnectedness of grasslands, grassland birds, and the Driftless landscape.

Light Up The Darkness – Belleville's 1st Annual Mental Health Awareness Event

Come Light Up The Darkness with us on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at the Belleville Community Park from 5:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m. We will have live music from local band, The Ghosts In The Room, brats, hot dogs, and more, provided by the Belleville Fire Department, baked goods provided by Lingonberry Llama, a 1-mile walk around the park at dusk with glow sticks, a floating water lantern release on Lake Belle View following the walk, a visit from NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) of Dane County, and more!

The Sugar River Senior Center will be celebrating their sixth year in their building on Wednesday, August 18th, starting at 12:30 p.m.
There will be refreshments, Bingo and more.
This also marks the 46th year of the Senior Citizen program in Belleville.

Walter Ruef, age 85, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021, at the New Glarus Home. He was born on August 11, 1935, in Oberried am Brienzersee, Switzerland, the son of Wilhelm and Clara (Trachsel) Ruef.

Belleville Community Picnic 2021

The 70th Annual Belleville Community Picnic was held Friday, August 6 through Sunday, August 8, 2021.
The weekend was packed with events, as well as great music, food and family friendly entertainment. It takes a lot of work to put together the Community Picnic, so please thank the volunteers for all that they did.

New Glarus Woods Trail Run - August 14, 2021

Join the Friends of the New Glarus Woods State Park for the 2nd Annual New Glarus Wood Trail Run on Saturday, August 14, 2021. As part of the Savanna Trail Run Series, proceeds from this event go to the Friends of New Glarus Woods State Park, who are currently fundraising so they can build mountain bike trails in the park. The Friends’ aim to host a top notch trail run that highlights the park and the town. Stick around after the race for awards and other activities.
