SkillsUSA Team Medals at Competition

Congratulations to the New Glarus High School Skills USA competitors! They competed recently at Fort Atkinson High School in a District Skills USA competition.
Special congratulations to Robby Chenoweth for taking the Silver in Extemporaneous Speaking, and to Aiden Runkle and Devin Schneider for taking Silver in the Additive Manufacturing event. Well done!

Week Three Adventsfenster Schedule

One window will be revealed each night at 6:00 p.m. (unless otherwise noted) in New Glarus, from December 1st until December 24th, and will conclude with a community window walk on Sunday, December 29th, at 4:00 p.m. Many locations will be offering a special treat, hot cocoa and other entertainment during their reveal.

New Police Officer Sworn In

Alexander Brey was sworn in as a full-time police officer to fill the New Glarus Police Department's last vacant open full-time position at the Village of New Glarus board meeting on December 3rd.

The Monticello Foundation Inc., Holds Annual Meeting

The Board of Directors of The Monticello Foundation, Inc. held their Annual Meeting on November 20, 2019, at The Twisted Tree in Monticello.
Officers elected were Linn Lederman, President; Dave Quade, Vice President; Carol Kubly, Treasurer; and JoAnn Cruse, Secretary. Jean McMannes resigned as Secretary after serving 15 years in the capacity.
Founded in 1995, the Monticello Foundation has awarded $433,750 in scholarships to Monticello grads. Tax-deductible donations may be sent to The Monticello Foundation, PO Box 636, Monticello, WI 53570. Your support is appreciated!

Santa is Coming to Monticello

Santa Claus is coming to town!! Santa will make his annual pre-Christmas visit to Monticello on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at the Monticello Fire Station. While Santa greets the children there and hears their wishes for Christmas, his elves are working hard to set up a special shop for the children to buy gifts for their family members. The Workshop will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for kids to shop before or after seeing Santa.

Monticello M.S. FCCLA Senior Citizen Meal

The Monticello Middle School FCCLA will be hosting their annual Senior Citizen Meal on Thursday, December 19th. The meal will be held in the FCS room from 5:00 p.m.-5:45 p.m.
The meal is free and we welcome all Monticello area senior citizens (60 and over) to attend.

Belleville Edward Jones Office Supports Toys for Tots Drive

Tyson Hein, the local Edward Jones financial advisor, is supporting the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program by using his office as a drop-off location for this year’s toy drive.
Local residents may help needy children in the area by bringing in a new, unwrapped toy to the office at 1019 River St Suite 6 during regular business hours, through December 15th.
“With the holiday season around the corner, we are all getting ready for the festivities,” Hein said. “And as this is the season of giving, now is a great time to remember the less fortunate in our community.”

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

The Belleville Community Club, with the Belleville Parent-Teacher Organization, will hold its annual Santa Visit, Holiday Gift Shop, and Book Fair on Friday, December 13th. The event will take place in the C.H. Hageman Gym at the Belleville Elementary School. The Holiday Gift Shop and Book Fair will open at 5:00 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m. Santa will visit from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m., and hand out treats to the children, thanks to the Belleville Community Club.

Cost-Share Signup For Conservation Practices Announced

The Green County Land and Water Conservation Department is accepting applications for soil conservation and water quality practices until December 31st.
Practices approved for the Land and Water Conservation Department are paid on a 70% cost-share per practice basis. The exception to this rule is for nutrient management. This practice is paid on a flat rate of $40 per acre.
