Lady Ponies Ground Silver Eagles

The Monticello Lady Ponies played at Argyle on December 12th. Trailing at the half, the Ponies couldn’t get any scoring together and lost the game, 39-21.
Harley Disch led the Ponies in scoring with 13 points, which included three 3-pointers. Miah Brokopp and Mackie Errthum both scored 3 points each.
On Saturday, December 14th, the Ponies faced Weston in Wisconsin Dells at Just A Game Fieldhouse. Monticello held a 14 point lead at the half and went on to win the game. The final score was Monticello 65, Weston 32.

Hockey Team Defeats Oregon and Viroqua

The Monroe Cheesemakers co-op hockey team played at Oregon on December 10th, winning 4-3 over the Panthers.

Lady Knights Win Twice on the Road

The New Glarus girls basketball team played two games on the road last week. On Monday, December 9th, they traveled to Dodgeville and on Saturday, December 14th, they were in Barneveld.
At Dodgeville, the Lady Knights were down by 8 at the half, but pulled through to win the game. The final score was New Glarus 49, Dodgeville 45.

Wildcats Remain Undefeated

The Belleville Wildcats played at Poynette on December 14th. Belleville led at the half, 44-20, and went on to win the game 76-58.
Leading Belleville with 21 points was Royce Clark, while Kody Fahey scored 15 points and Trevor Syse scored 12 points.
On Friday, December 20th, the team will play at Cuba City and on December 27th and 28th they will play at Platteville High School. Their opponent on the 27th will be Wauzeka-Steuben and on the 28th they will play Platteville. Both games will be played in the South Gym.

Ponies Continue Winning Streak

The Monticello Ponies boys basketball team hosted Argyle on December 10th. The Ponies held a commanding 31-12 lead at the half and went on to win the game, 59-29.
Starting the game with a 9-0 run, the Ponies took off and never looked back. Ten Ponies scored at least 1 point during the win.
Leading the team with 19 points was Reece Rufer, who also had 8 rebounds. Peter Gustafson put 16 points on the board and pulled down 8 rebounds, Simon Blohowiak scored 7 points and had 7 rebounds and Owen Ace scored 6 points.

Belleville Girls Basketball Wins Fifth Game in a Row

The Belleville girls basketball team traveled to Poynette on Tuesday, December 10th, to take on the tough Poynette Pumas. Poynette was coming off a victory over New Glarus the previous week, and has been playing very good basketball so far this season. The game started with Poynette jumping out to a 10-point lead over the Wildcats in the first half but Belleville played hard and by half-time the lead was down to just four.

Sugar River Euchre

Twenty-four Sugar River Euchre players took part in the League's Mid-Winter Tournament at Norsk Golf Club in Mount Horeb on December 12, 2019. A good time was had by all and the Norsk Golf Club staff did a fantastic job catering to our every need including an amazing pizza buffet at the end of the night.
