Toys N' Trailers

The Belleville and New Glarus FFA clubs are holding a toy drive to support the Toys for Tots program, in coordination with Edward Jones of Belleville, on Friday, December 13, 2019.
From 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., bring unused and unwrapped toys to the Belleville High School football field parking lot at 635 W. Church Street in Belleville, and help fill the trailer.

Catherine Anne (Gehin) Nelson died from complications of cancer on December 4, 2019, at Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. in Fitchburg. Cathy was born in Madison on November 23, 1941, and grew up on her parents' dairy farm near Belleville.

Ring In The Season

A memorable holiday experience awaits the entire family on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., when Monroe Arts Center presents the concert “Ring in the Season.” This three-act concert will close MAC’s 22nd Annual Holiday Silent Auction, as well as celebrate the festive moods of the season with melodious secular and seasonal songs performed by the talented members of the Zwingli Senior Chime Choir from Monticello, the Monroe Brass Quintet, and the Jodi Beach Trio of Rockford, Illinois. Monroe Arts Center is located at 1315 11th Street, Monroe, Wisconsin.

New Glarus and Belleville Police Departments to Crack Down on Drunken Motorists During the 'Winter Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over' Traffic Campaign

The New Glarus and Belleville Police Departments will be out with other law enforcement agencies throughout Wisconsin and the rest of the nation for the “Winter Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” crackdown on drunken drivers from December 15 through New Year’s Day.

Minnesota State University Mankato will award 1,709 degrees at the end of the fall semester, with commencement ceremonies on Saturday, December 14, 2019, in Taylor Center’s Bresnan Arena on the Minnesota State Mankato campus. <strong>Steven Zimmerman</strong>, Belleville, will be graduating with a Bachelor’s in Automotive Engineering Technology.

NGM Football Awards End of Season Honors

The New Glarus-Monticello Football Team celebrated the 2019 season recently. The 2019 team finished with an overall record of 5-5/3-1 in the Capitol Conference, and earned a #7 seed in the WIAA play-offs. NGM lost to Prairie Du Chien by a score of 35-14.
During the banquet, the 2019 NGM seniors were recognized for their contributions to NGM Football. This year's seniors are: Robert Chenoweth, Reece Rufer, Connor Siegenthaler, Calvin Strok, Josh Wieser, and Matthew Zierl.

Lions Club Donates Baskets

The Monticello Lions Club created 12 Holiday Food Baskets and delivered them on Saturday, November 30th. This included a complete turkey dinner, plus many extras. Those involved with this project were Mike Klassy, Mike Davis, Linn Lederman, Troy Pettis, Nancy Karlen, Cherri Bell, Carol Powell, Karen Brugger and Nancy Elmer. We want to thank Cherri Bell for opening up the Twisted Tree allowing us to pack the baskets there.
