David W. Green, New Glarus, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on June 13, 2019, in Passau, Germany, while on a cruise on the Danube River with his wife, Susan (LeVan). Dave was born in Beckley, West Virginia, on March 13, 1944, to Bernard and Alberta Green.

Hustad Family Reunion

The 87th Hustad Family Reunion will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2019, beginning at Noon, at the Veterans Memorial Park in New Glarus, WI. The park is located across from the elementary school on Second Street.
Please bring a dish to pass, your own table service and beverage, as well as a “Bingo” prize.

Annual Amish Quilt Auction

If you’re interested in high-quality handcrafted quilts, you will want to attend Clearview School’s 23rd Annual Quilt and Consignment Auction. The auction will begin at 8:30 a.m., on Saturday, July 27, 2019, and is located at the Clearview Amish School, W114 Atkinson Road, Albany, WI. Take Highway 11 to Highway 104 north of Brodhead, WI, to Atkinson Road west. New for 2019 is a pancake breakfast that will be served from 7:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m.

Bastille Day Lakefest is a unique festival celebrating Lake Belle View, nature and wildlife, health and wellness, Belleville's French Heritage, family and community connections.

Meeting Scheduled for Update on Prairie Haus Development

Wisconsin Housing Preservation Corp. (WHPC) and the Project Development Team will be providing an update on the progress and proposed schedule for the development on Elmer Road, now being referred to as the “Prairie Haus”. The update will take place in the Community Room of New Glarus Village Hall, located at 319 2nd Street, on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, and will begin at 5:00 p.m.
Following their update, the development team will be available to answer questions from attendees.

Community Cooling Centers

The library and the village hall are both open to the public during normal business hours, Monday through Friday.

<strong>Monticello</strong>
The Monticello Police Department/Village Hall Conference Room, 140 N. Main Street, will be available as an emergency cooling station for people needing relief from the heat and humidity on Friday, July 19, 2019. Please call Police Chief Szvon Conway at (608) 214-4320 for more information.

Agrace Offers ^Bridges^" and ^"Spouse/Partner Loss^" Grief Support Groups in August"

In August, local adults who are grieving can find hope and healing at the Agrace Grief Support Center, 2906 Marketplace Drive, Fitchburg. Agrace will host three grief support programs: “Bridges,” “Summer Spouse/Partner Loss” and “LGBTQ Spouse/Partner Loss Group.” These programs provide emotional and peer support in a professionally led group setting. Bridges is for adults grieving the death of any loved one. It meets on Wednesdays throughout the year, alternating between daytime and evening. In August, meetings are August 7 and 21, from 9:30 a.m.

Schwartzlow Reunion

The Schwartzlow Reunion will be held Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Putnam Park, 6th Street and W. 3rd Avenue, in Brodhead, from 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Will eat around Noon.
Bring a dish to pass. Table service, broasted chicken, ham and bottled water will be provided. Spread the word to other members of your family.
