Two Very Different Candidates Vie for Supreme Court Seat

Voters in the April 2 election for the Wisconsin Supreme Court have choices in candidates with sharply differing political backgrounds in the non-partisan contest.
Both are appellate judges on the Waukesha-based District II Court of Appeals, but arrived there from completely opposite directions. Judge Lisa Neubauer was appointed by then Gov. James Doyle in 2007, and has been elected twice since.

Forever 56 Foundation Banquet Set for March 30

The Forever 56 Foundation was founded in memory of Eric James O’Connor, who died as a result of an auto/ATV accident in July 2017. Eric would have been a senior at Belleville High School the fall of 2017. He was an avid outdoorsman. He also was very involved as a youth with multiple organizations, such as Cub Scouts, 4-H, choir, youth sports, and high school sports.

Monticello Blood Drive Exceeds Goal

Dear Editor,
Please help us to thank the great people who came to the Red Cross blood drive in Monticello on Friday, the 22nd of February. We were very fortunate to have good weather, after a winter of extreme cold and loads of snow. Some blood drives in the area had to be canceled but we were lucky to have a nice day.

The Green County Ag Chest invites area girls to consider being a candidate for their Community Dairy Queen Program.
To be eligible, you must be a sophomore, junior or senior for the upcoming school year. You must attend the local school or have the community address or phone number of the community you wish to represent. The Community Dairy Queen is one of 11 queens that represent their community, Green County and Wisconsin in the promotion of dairy products, resources, industries, tourism and people; especially the youth and youth organizations.

Belleville Officials Evaluate Dam to Determine Possible Damage

Belleville officials said last weekend that they are aware that water is seeping through joints in the concrete of the Belleville Dam along the spillway portion of the structure.
On Thursday morning, March 21, 2019, engineers from Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and MSA Professional Services were on-site with Village Staff and elected officials to evaluate the dam and create a plan to determine what is happening. The seeping water does not indicate an immediate hazard, but there could be damage to the underlying earthen or concrete construction of the dam.
