New Glarus Oktoberfest will draw visitors to downtown New Glarus from Thursday, September 21st through Sunday, September 24th, for music, food, a 5K/10K Run and 2-Mile Walk, tapping of the Wooden Keg, and much more!
Please make note of the following road closures prior to traveling around downtown New Glarus during Oktoberfest weekend.
1st Street (between 5th Avenue and 6th Avenue) will be closed starting at 12:00 a.m., Thursday, September 21st through 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 25th.

The dairy industry, whether in Wisconsin or other U.S. states with strong dairy traditions or internationally, faces new opportunities and challenges as the industry adapts to changing trends in milk production, genetics, processing, consumer demand, and even shifting trade agreements. To help sort out these complex issues, the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection is hosting a symposium during this year’s World Dairy Expo featuring leading researchers from several top U.S.

Following the unprecedented and devastating impact from Hurricane Harvey on the State of Texas and the Gulf Coast, the Wisconsin Badger State Sheriffs’ Association (BSSA) has implemented the Sheriffs Adopting Sheriffs program to help Sheriffs employees in the State of Texas. The Green County Sheriff’s Office is a member agency of the BSSA.

Everyone six months and older should receive the flu shot. CDC recommends that people get vaccinated by the end of October, if possible. The flu vaccination can reduce flu illnesses, doctors visits, missed work, and missed school due to the flu. Plus, it helps prevent flu-related hospitalizations. Monroe Clinic offers flu clinics starting in September and ending in December.
