Fourth Annual Smarty-Pants Smackdown Is Coming

The time is now to sign up your team for this fun team trivia night to support the Monticello Boys and Girls basketball programs. The contest will be held on Friday, November 4th, at 6:30 p.m., at a new location, the Edelweiss Country Club in New Glarus.
Teams must have between 6 and 10 players, and the entry fee is $10.00 per person. Players must be 18 years old or older. The night will also feature raffles, door prizes, mini-games, and more.

Haunticello Fest

Monticello’s Haunticello Fest will take place on Saturday, October 29, 2016, at the Monticello High School. Please enter by the circle drive. Haunticello Fest will take place after Trick or Treating, which is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m., in the village of Monticello.
The school will unlock the doors at 5:30 p.m., and Costume Judging will take place at 6:00 p.m.
A Haunted Trail Ride will begin at 6:30 p.m. and go until 10:00 p.m. The cost for the Haunted Trail Ride is $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children 4 and under. There will be scariness for all age levels.

Halloween Food Drive

Members of the Monticello High School FCCLA will be conducting their annual Trick or Treat Food Drive during trick or treat hours on Saturday, October 29th.
Members will be going door-to-door in the Village of Monticello to request donations of nonperishable food items or cash. Members will start canvassing the village at 2:30 p.m. All donations will be given to Green Cares Food Pantry, which serves all of Green County.

Home Delivered Meal Drivers Needed

Monticello home delivered meal volunteers are needed for up to one hour delivering meals to homebound individuals on Tuesdays.
Please call the ADRC at (608) 328-9499 for more information on becoming a volunteer.

Veterans Day Program Set

The Veterans Program is set for Wednesday, November 9th. It will start at 7:00 p.m. It will be in the Belleville High School Gym.
All Veterans and servicemen and women are asked to be there at 6:30 p.m., to sign in. There will be a table by the gym doors.
All students who signed up to do the pledge need to be there at 6:45 p.m. Meet with Connie Urfer in the commons before going to the bleachers. All pledge students must be accompanied by an adult.
Come and enjoy the talent of the Belleville students and community people.

On November 8, you have the opportunity to make your voice heard regarding the School District of Belleville Referendum. We encourage all voters to get out and participate in the election, and more importantly, we want all community members to have an informed decision.

New Quilt For the Reading Room

Nancy Dorl presented Bronna Lehmann with a new quilt for the Belleville Public Library's classroom and quiet reading room. Nancy pieced the quilt and Esther Moore did the quilting. Stop by the Library and find the books in the quilting. The quilt that was hanging in the room was on loan from Nancy while she made one for the Library. Everyone at the Library greatly appreciates this wonderful gift.

Road Rally 2016

<strong>Saturday, November 5th.</strong> It is getting down to the wire. The rally is coming up fast! We have combed the sides of the roads we have chosen to find things that you will have to find! Then we racked our brains to come up with ways to describe them that you would have to transcribe to English! This is an exhausting process…<i><strong>which we absolutely love!!</strong></i> It’s all about to be put down on paper and the test run follows that so changes can be made in case the testers find mistakes.

Haunted Trail in Belleville

On October 28th and October 29th, there will be a Haunted Trail in Belleville, with access to the trail from the entrance of the Belleville School District Office.
On Friday, October 28th, the trail will be open from 6:00 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. On Saturday, October 29th, the trail will be open from 5:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. If there are people still waiting in line, they will remain open later. A less scary, family friendly version is available until dark on both nights.

Green County Workforce Development Outreach Center Ribbon Cutting

The new Green County Workforce Development Outreach Center, part of the American Job Center network, will officially open with a ribbon cutting ceremony set for Thursday, October 27, at 3:30 p.m., at the Monroe Campus of Blackhawk Technical College (BTC), 210 4th Avenue, Monroe.
