Sylvia K. Purcell

Sylvia K. Purcell (nee Keppler), age 90, a lifelong resident of New Glarus, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015. Born on December 11, 1924, to Rueben and Anna (Held) Keppler.
Sylvia graduated from New Glarus High School in 1942. She married Thomas Purcell on July 12, 1947.
Sylvia is survived by her sons, Greg, New Glarus, and Randy (Paula), Cedarburg, WI; grandchildren, Melissa, Nichole, Erin, Ryan, Richard, Elizabeth and Chad; great-grandchildren, Mina, Andrew, Adam, Adian, Henry, Violet; and nieces and nephews.

Monroe Arts Center Plans to Break Ground for their New Building Addition

The Monroe Arts Center Board of Directors and the Monroe Arts Center Foundation Board of Directors are extremely pleased to announce the start of construction of the Arts Center's new building addition.
The groundbreaking ceremony will be held on Tuesday, July 21, at 4:00 p.m., at the construction site on the grounds of the Monroe Arts Center, 1315 11th Street, Monroe, WI. The public is invited.

French Family Descendents to Gather

There are many nationalities of immigrants that settled in and around Dane County, one being a unique group of French immigrants, all from the Haute-Soane region in northeastern France. Beginning in the 1850s and spanning into the late 1870s, thirty-two families immigrated to Wisconsin, most settling northeast of Belleville in Montrose Township. Monticello Homecoming Theme: 'Fun in the Sun? Roger That!'

Monticello Community Club would like to welcome you to our annual celebration in Monticello, beginning with softball on Thursday, July 9, and continuing throughout the weekend. We have many activities that you are welcome to come and watch, and even participate in! Again this year, we have a carnival for the kids – the same carnival as last year, expanded a bit. Wristband times are Thursday night from 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m., and again Sunday afternoon from Noon until 4:00 p.m.
