To take sole position of first place and to remain undefeated, the Starlight Express extracted 67 psi from the network of pipes laid by the Pipe Benders. Engineers Tracy Haag and Opie Taylor managed to buildup 113 psi in their boiler, while fellow engineers Steve Hoffmaster and Charlie Steinhauer reached 117 psi (this week’s high score). The Red Mouse Mounties also improved their standings by removing 33 bales from the Hay Shakers’ (Kleeman’s) haymow. Mounties Jim Day and Leo Humphrey were able to load 110 bales in their wagon.

On Monday, January 24th, the New Glarus Glarner Knights basketball team played at Mineral Point. A halftime score was unavailable, however, the Knights lost the game. The final score was Mineral Point 56, New Glarus 53.
Leading New Glarus with 25 points was Dain Walter, who also had 1 steal and 1 block. Carter Siegenthaler scored 13 points and had 1 assist and 3 steals, and Bryce Stampfli scored 9 points and had 4 assists.

On Tuesday, January 25th, the New Glarus Lady Knights hosted Lodi. Up by 7 at the halftime break, New Glarus went on the win the game 62-56.
Elle Lancaster led New Glarus with 19 points, while Alex Atwell scored 14 points and Grace Nommensen put 10 points on the board.

On February 1st, the Lady Knights hosted Columbus. They will play at Waterloo on February 3rd and host Wisconsin Heights on February 8th.

In recent weeks, the Red Cross has had less than a 1-day supply of critical blood types.
