Carolyn Schwartzlow Named Wisconsin Rural Schools Alliance Support Staff Member of the Year

On Thursday, October 27, Carolyn Schwartzlow the award for received the Wisconsin Rural Schools Alliance Support Staff Member of the Year. Jeff Eide, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Rural Schools Alliance, presented Schwartzlow with the award for her hard work and dedication to the school district and its families.
The presentation was made during a pep rally to cheer on the girls volleyball team as they headed into Sectional Competition.

Wilhelm Tell Schuetzen Haus and Park Listed in the National Register of Historic Places

The Wisconsin Historical Society announces the listing of the Wilhelm Tell Schuetzen Haus and Park in the National Register of Historic Places on August 12, 2022. The Wilhelm Tell Schuetzen Haus and Park is located in a rural setting north of the Village of New Glarus. Also known as the Wilhelm Tell Shooting Barn and Park, the 4.8 acre park was established in 1879 and the wood-frame vernacular barn was constructed in 1907.

Monticello Ponies Volleyball Win Regional Championship

On Tuesday, October 18th, the Monticello Ponies varsity volleyball team, who is seeded #1 for WIAA Division 4 tournament play, hosted #16 seeded Chesterton Academy of Milwaukee for the first round of Regional play. Monticello won in 3, 25-9, 25-0, 25-9.

Barbara Jean Workman, age 81, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022, at SSM Health in Monroe, WI, with her girls by her side. She was born on February 9, 1941, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, the daughter of Arthur and Alvina (LaPorte) Severson.
