It's Time to Bring Honor Back

Dear Editor,
I am voting for Joe Biden for President and Kriss Marion for 51st District Assembly because we need honorable people in government.
I’ve always been interested in politics, ever since my three brothers and I grew up in Dodgeville. I remember staying up with Dad, a diehard Republican, listening to the Goldwarer election news.

Belleville Red Cross Drive

Dear Editor,
Sending a note of thanks to the people of Belleville and surrounding communities who answered the crisis call from the Red Cross to give blood and platelets at the Belleville Kiwanis and Econo-misers recent drive. 60 pints were collected, exceeding our goal of 56 units.

Sgt. Merlyn Duerst arrived at Newport News on Monday from France. He called his mother by telephone on Monday evening.
Sgt. Millard Tschudy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tschudy, landed on the east coast from Europe last week and expects to be discharged and come home soon.
Pfc. Palmer K. Strickler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Strickler, landed on the east coast and he is expected home soon.
Roger Hefty S1/c, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A. Hefty, who has been in South America, is here visiting his parents.

Roger E. Krueger, age 88, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2020, surrounded by his family. He was born on June 1, 1932, in the Brooklyn area, the son of Vernie and Mabel (Kundert) Krueger, and has lived within seven miles of his birth place his entire life.

Pastor Dale Lloyd Storm, 66, of Coolidge, Arizona, died on October 6, 2020.
Pastor Storm was a son of Samuel and Florence Storm. He was described as a man who walked with God. He was loved by everyone he came in contact with. He was always active in the community. In his younger years, he served as a police officer, EMT and firefighter.

Monticello Man Dies in Fatal Farm Accident

At approximately 1:56 p.m., on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, the Green County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting that an individual was trapped under the head of a combine in a farm field located along Little Sugar Lane, in Washington Township, west of the Village of Monticello. The Monticello Fire Department, Green County EMS, Monticello Police, MedFlight and Green County Deputies responded to the scene.

Outpouring of Love in Monticello

It has been said that when you live in a small town, everyone knows your business. That may be true, but it's also true that when something tragic happens, people in small towns will step up to help however they can. On Wednesday, October 7, 2020, John Marty was killed in a farm accident, devastating his friends, family and what seemed like the entire village of Monticello. To honor John's love of motorcycles and cars, an impromptu motorcycle and car show was set up last weekend.
