The white-tailed deer mating season is undoubtedly the best time to be a deer viewer or photographer.  Bucks, in particular, are now most active, at nearly all times of the day and night. 
As they cast aside their usual caution and fear of humans, these males often hold their ground, particularly if there is a doe bedded in the vicinity.  Bucks are unlikely to leave unless the doe runs away.

The Capitol Conference is proud to announce their 2017 South Division Volleyball All Conference and Player of the Year Selections.
Belleville’s Rachael Heittola was named a 1st Team All Conference Selection, along with Claire Mosher and Brooke Mosher, Waterloo, Bailey Neuberger, Marshall, and Kaela Kraemer and Karlee Adler, Wisconsin Heights.
Claire Mosher, Waterloo, was named the 2017 Capitol Conference South Division Volleyball – Player of the Year.

The Monroe-New Glarus swim team competed in the WIAA Girls Division 2 Sectional meet in Stoughton on November 4th.
“It was an amazing day for the MNG swim team!  Not only did the swimmers post PR after PR, they qualified in six races for state! As a team they placed 8th out of 14 teams, with a score of 154,” said Coach Linda Moser. “Edgewood won the meet with 400 points. We broke three team records too!  They girls have had a great season and so much to be proud of. They didn’t give in when the challenges came and today showed what they can do!”
