The Green County Land and Water Conservation Department is accepting applications for soil conservation and water quality practices.
Practices approved for the Land and Water Conservation Department are paid on a 70% cost-share per practice basis. The exception to this rule is for nutrient management. This practice is paid on a flat rate of up to $28 per acre. The signup will continue until December 31, 2015.

In a dual matchup, the Monroe/New Glarus girls swim team defeated Fort Atkinson 109-58, and the JV team edged Fort Atkinson, 31-30.
“It was parents’ night for the M-NG swim team, and the girls swam to another win the Badger South Conference. The girls also collectively had 19 PRs, with several of the girls hitting a PR in their individual events,” stated Head Coach Linda Moser. “They keep moving closer to that goal that they have set for themselves with each PR they swim!”
Anna Wolf PR’d in the 200 IM and 100 Fly while Maddie Hammer PR’d in the 200 Free and 100 Breast.

Last week, the Monticello volleyball team faced off against Pecatonica, losing 2-3 with scores 25-21, 25-21, 22-25, 29-25, 13-15.
The team was led by Megan Lehr with 11 kills and six aces. Brittany Disch and Brie Graber each had seven kills while Disch also had three blocks. Jessie Garrison tallied 26 assists and six aces. Chandler Hansen earned 25 digs, and Marrisa Peterson had 15.
Later that week, the Ponies were defeated by Black Hawk, 12-25, 10-25, 19-25.
Conference record is 2-9.

On Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015, the New Glarus volleyball team fell to Marshall, 17-25, 15-25, 25-23, 17-25, on the road.
Devon Boll amassed 10 kills. Maddie Macht earned 10 kills, five aces, and nine digs. McKinley Righter had seven kills and one block while Haley Reeson totaled two blocks. Julia Barnaby had one block. Alex Nealis tallied 18 assists while teammate Vanessa Narveson had 17 digs.
The team is 3-5 in conference and 11-14 overall.
