Photography Contest Celebrates 29 Years

For the 29th consecutive year, Monroe Arts Center (MAC) announces details for the upcoming Photography Contest and Exhibit.  The contest is open to non-professional photographers and participants are not required to be Wisconsin residents.  Photographs entered in this contest will be on exhibit in MAC’s Frehner Gallery from August 31, 2018 through October 19, 2018.  An opening reception for this exhibit is scheduled for Friday, August 31, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with an awards presentation at 6:00 p.m. 
The two classifications for the contest are Adult and Junior (under 18 years of age).  There are no categories and no limit to the number of photographs entered.  The entry fee for the Adult Classification is $20.00 per photograph, and $10.00 per photograph for the Junior Classification.  The awards in the Adult Classification are $125/Best of Show, $75/1st Place, $50/2nd Place, $25/3rd Place, and ribbon awards for 4th and 5th Place.  The awards in the Junior Classification are $50/Best of Show, $30/1st Place, $25/2nd Place, $20/3rd Place, and ribbon awards for 4th and 5th Place.  Honorable Mention ribbons may be given in both classifications.  All photographs must have been taken after September 2017.  The deadline to enter is Friday, August 10, 2018.
