Wildcats in First Place in Capitol South

The Belleville Wildcats boys basketball team hosted Dodgeville on January 24th. The Wildcats held a 37-17 halftime lead and cruised to a 66-42 victory.
DeMarcus Conner led the team with 15 points and had 3 rebounds and 4 assists. Andrew Ace and Carter Scholey each scored 13 points, with Ace having 8 rebounds and 2 assists and Scholey having 2 rebounds. Kaden DeSmet scored 11 points and had 3 rebounds and 4 assists.
On January 26th, the Wildcats played at Waterloo. Belleville was ahead at halftime, 33-16, and held the Waterloo offense to just 9 points in the second half to win the game. The final score was Belleville 79, Waterloo 25.
Kaden DeSmet led Belleville with 20 points along with having 1 rebound and 2 assists, while Jack Erickson scored 14 points and had 3 rebounds and 2 assists and DeMarcus Conner put 11 points on the board along with having 3 rebounds and 7 assists.
The Wildcats played at Watertown Luther Prep on January 28th. With a halftime score of Belleville 43, Watertown 27, Belleville’s defense kept Watertown’s scoring to a minimum in the second half, resulting in a win. The final score was Belleville 70, Watertown Luther Prep 44.
Leading Belleville with 16 points was DeMarcus Conner, who also had 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Kaden DeSmet and Nathan Meier each scored 11 points, with DeSmet having 3 rebounds and 1 assist and Meier with 7 rebounds.
The Wildcats are currently sitting in first place in the Capitol South, with a 5-0 conference record (13-4 overall). They played at Turner on January 30th and will play at Wisconsin Heights on February 3rd, at Monroe on February 6th and at Cambridge on February 9th.
