The Belleville Wildcat Cross Country team ran at River Valley on Saturday, September 10th. The race is held on the local municipal golf course and designated scoring by either small school or large school division. JV is scored as one group. Large schools, such as Madison West, participate in this meet as well as small schools.
Small school Varsity girls ran first. The Wildcats were led by Lainey Winkers, who finished in 38th place with a time of 24:04, followed by Emily Gomez (career best 26:16), Alice Elliott (27:01) and Ruby Gustafson (28:26), who all set season personal bests!
Junior Varsity was led by Maddie Miller with a career best time of 27:42, followed by Allison Dyrhaug (28:44) and Annika Esselstrom (37:47).
Carter Scholey won the Varsity Boys Small School race with a time of 16:21. He was followed by Angelo Dohm, who was recognized for a top 20 finish, placing 18th with a time of 18:28. Rounding out the rest of the team was Jackson Scholey (season best 19:07), Blake Johnson (career best 19:45), Aiden Campbell (19:56), Niles Monroe (20:06) and William Booth (career best 21:21). The boys placed 5th overall in a very tight race.
The JV boys race was led by Adrian Jenkins, who finished with a career best time of 22:49. He was followed by William Gobel (24:06), Shepard Nass (season best 24:38), Ben Remy (career best 25:13), Christopher Weber (season best 25:40), Keegan Dohm (career best 32:15) and Dallas Ziegler (season best 39:30).
