The most important match of the night occurred at Harley Blue in Blue Mounds. The undefeated Kleeman Hay Shakers couldn’t get a whole lot of shaking going on as the Express, without three of their regular players, rolled over the Hay Shakers to make all of their stops on time and 47 points ahead of the Hay Shakers. With the Hay Shakers and Express tied for first place, a playoff match will occur on March 12th, time and place to be determined.
The match between the J&M Bar River Rats and the Tyrol Trolls also had its share of highs and lows. Not only did Harry and Jack Gehin record the only perfect score for the entire season, Honker and Ernie Sarbacker nearly had one as well. Honker and Ernie lost the last game by 1-point to Nick Liegel and Scott Hook to finish with 119 points. Based on my records, the River Rats also broke the record for the high total team score of 455 points. With these stats, the River Rats quickly made a feast of the Trolls, winning this one by 145 points. That may also be a record. Whereas, Trolls Dave Hook and Brittney Onsager, with a 68, recorded the low score for the week.
S’Wisco Taphaus had their way with the Riley Shufflers, knocking them into a tie for third place with the Norsk Cowboys. Cheese Eaters George Eichelkraut and Bryan Buesser lost three games, all by just 1-point, to finish with 117 points. While Keith Wenger and Brett Eichelkraut added another 112 points to the Cheese Eaters’ 36-point win. Stan Hook and Randy Skogen were the top finishers for the Shufflers with 110 points.
Harold Schlimgen and Randy Schmid had an impressive night, roping in 119 points for the Cowboys, while Dean Disch and Don Field snagged another 116 points for the Cowboys. The Cowboys head to the March 19th championship match with a total of 14 wins this season, after securing their fifth straight win of the second half beating the Mounties by 91 points.
The Norsk Pranksters clogged nearly all the Pipe Benders’ pipes to pick up their fourth win of the half. Plumbers Mark Losenegger and Tony Hoffman were able to push 112 gallons through for Jones Plumbing keeping it a semi-respectable match. The Pranksters flushed 34 points out of the Pipe Benders.
Standings: Kleeman’s 8-1; Harley Blue Express 8-1; Norsk Cowboys 6-3; Riley Shufflers 6-3; Jones’ Plumbing 4-5; Norsk Pranksters 4-5; S’Wisco Taphaus 4-5; J&M Bar 3-6; Riley Mounties 2-7; Tyrol Trolls 0-9.
