The School District of Belleville is excited to welcome Elizabeth “Liz” McGowan in her new role as the Associate Principal for Belleville’s Middle and High School. She is thrilled to join the Wildcat team and has jumped into her administrative role with both feet this summer. She joins Belleville’s staff after her time in the Pecatonica Area School District.
McGowan notes, “My mission as the Associate Principal is to not only develop academic success, but also well-rounded students. I look forward to working in partnership with Mr. Loshaw, the teachers, and the staff.”
Liz received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Edgewood College. She also holds her Master’s Degree in Administration from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. During her educational career, McGowan taught for six years. She also ran the varsity volleyball program for five years and held numerous leadership roles before taking on her new role in Belleville.
In her free time, Liz loves spending time with her family and friends. She comes to Belleville understanding how special it is to have a family focus and notes that her husband, Corey, and she have been blessed with two beautiful children, Charlotte and Clayton. Their family is also enhanced with the joy of sharing their lives with their chocolate lab – Whiskey is also a central part of their family’s life! As a family, they love spending time outdoors, watching sports, and traveling.
As McGowan begins her new role for Belleville this summer, she has had the opportunity to get to know members of the administrative team, dig in and become familiar with the needs for the 2024-2025 school year.
McGowan emphasizes, “I am enthusiastic to dive in and start establishing connections here. Go Wildcats!”
She is excited to continue to keep students the primary focus of her work in Belleville. The School District of Belleville is excited to welcome Associate Principal McGowan to their staff and Wildcat community!
